k last season built from scratch legit cept for show map rikjames was born around the time that bunni had pretty much retired and green had almost caught up to him. In 4 months, 3 months of baaling, 1 month of magic finding constantly for the gear, managed to get it set up but he died eventually the first night teleporting for pUre_Warrior because of my carelessness after 3000 successful throne teleports I got arrogant decided not to wait for battleorders and was met by convic gloams death.
so how I did it, as I don't care much for sorcs all that much cept to impress on how fast I can teleport lol:
lvls 1-20 were a bit hard
I had come from softcore ladder was already well known there as one of the best sorc players for leveling, but as I did not know anyone in hc I lvled quested solo a bit and waited for games in which the ppl seemed nice and I was able to "leach" the boss quests.
I believe I skipped cows since I didnt trust anyone to cow for me to 25 for the baal runs.
At lvl 25 I already had ancients pledge from my friend Leon giving me a 3 socket shield and doing the rescue the barb quests for the merc and the runes.
So at this lvl i had a few very crappy life charms good resists for baal at least the important one: lightning and an ok block shield a decent amount of hitpoints and Leon had also given me some cool angelic rings and i think the ammy. The orb I was using was still terrible.
so leveled safely in norm baals luck saved me did not even see one tppk attempt on my party in norm baals.
At level 47 moved onto nightmare and began slowly questing and help/leaching the major quests/bosses.
cut to the chase after about 4 days of decent amount of playing but not insane amount I was level 74 and a guardian: I know that's kind of sad in Hc standards
but remember I had just come from sc.
At this time I knew I was in no condition to survive hell baaling so I went back to hell meph and used the blizzard moat trick and after about a month of magic finding was able to become decently wealthy. Had/have a few sojs/ 3 ss/ etc..
was eventually able to make hoto and cta from hellforge rune rushes and then able to make my own baal runs which lots of good players joined and made nice friends with.
Cut to the chase rik died a proud death yes and stupid death to convic gloams at lvl 97 2/3 losing very nice gear that I feel like I almost wasted 4 months of my life on if it were not for the namesake on the page
At first I was in shock but now the new sorc I have this season ladder is doing alright having already made Heart of the Oak from lucky forge drops /trading and having 3 friends helped me to get annihilus. As for running sorc for this season ladder I'm not sure since the top ppl now are mostly botters or ones receiving tremendous support network, plus just don't have the time with concerns over school work and work. But yes hc is still great fun no matter how many lamers try to ruin it.
