i could've sworn it doesn't let you go through waypoints when you hostile someone?
There is a delay...you can use WP's when you hostile someone. Test it out in a PK game when people are town guarding and using the WP is the only way out. I am not sure of the length of the delay...I think 10 seconds. IN which case, you would have to employ the use of teleport yourself...and at that you would undoubtedly be too far behind to catch up to the botter...

The bot did a number of housekeeping tasks before it took the WP (rearranging items in inventory and talking to Ormus presumably it tried to buy pots in addition to healing, that I saw) which usually allowed me to get down first, even with the timer. You can just follow it and catch up at the Durance 3 stairs where it stopped to allow it's mana bulb to refill.

Drat, and that was a sweet sig idea.

about the pinlebot: you can't enter a red portal at all when you're hostile. you have to unhostile, and the bot proably isn't programmed for that. I imagine the likelyhood of you catching it coming from the other way is very low...it will be done by the time you get there

I can only speak to the moat trick part. I have a lvl 87 Meteorb sorc who uses full Tals and a Lidless (wizzy and whitstans for TPing though). The Lidless has a fire facet, and I have 4 fire skill charms... my fire and lightning resists are maxed... and sometimes I tank mephisto... but sometimes he gets a good hit in and nails me good. Because of that, I usually just use the moat trick for safety. Sometimes the council guys are on the peninsula to my right.... which just gives me a chance to pelt them with fireballs also... they always drop good gold. As for their hydras.... I usually drink a red potion or two... then after they are dead, I go back to mephisto... usually (after static'ing him to 50%) it takes me two meteors with constant fireballs in between. I think moat trick is a better route then tanking.... cause it's a safe way to go.

Just a few words from me:

Oculus: it teleports you 25% of the time whenever you are hit by anything. I hate to wait for my merc to kill those Baal's Minions freezing skellies as they shoot at me making me teleport away with my merc. Whether it's to the point where my mouse is at that moment - I don't know. If anyone has a low damage spell on Europe and could treat my sorc with it a couple of times for testing, PM me or whisper *br13

Meph: moat trick is for chars wearing Skullders, Goldwrap & company. For those that need those extra mf over 300 or 400... My sorc has 353 iirc and max res on hell with full tal set and tanks meph just fine (block sorc).

With maxed resists, max-block you can easily tank Meph and put him to Shreds. Never used Moattrick at all.

I haven't tested it but.... from reading the description I am guessing instead of a random teleport you go to where your mouse pointer is at the time it triggers.....
No, it's random.
