    Mistake in socketing runeword...

The other day someone posted that he knew someone who socketed Enigma runeword in the wrong order.. I thought it was quite funny at the time.

Yesterday, my buddy who I played with for about 1 year started cursing and swearing when we were muling in same room. He then asked me if the runeword order for HoTo is Ko + Vex + Pul + Thul. I said, " ya nothing wrong there". Then he said, "but why doesnt this mace change to a runeword". I looked at it and said "hmm rite order nothing wrong there, correct order". Then I look closely at the weapon description and it says "war hammer"....

According to battle.net for Heart of the Oak runeword:
-Maces: Maces doesn't mean all Mace class weapons. As the top of the page says: Maces = Mace, Morning Star, Flail, and Exceptional/Elite versions.

    Don't fall in same trap!!!

Always make sure you use the correct item. This has happened to me before, but with a low-level runeword. Since then I always check the item and write the correct order down, before I attempt to make a runeword.

Well you can always unsocket it with Hel + TP-scroll...

"Whaddaya mean in this order it's not a BotD."

    Painfull....but very funny.

Not so painfull....friend of mine tried to make Stealth (TalEth) in a Spirit Forge which yielded him a nifty +30 % Poison Resist (Tal), Regenerate Mana 15% (Eth).... YEAH !!!

the first rune appears in the center of a 5 socket item but you dont actually have to chose which socket to stick the runes into. as long as you re dropping the runes on the item in the correct order everything should be ok, the placement is automatic.
