For mfing runs I would do:

    Mephisto Runs
    Pit Runs
    Mausoleum Runs
    Maggot Lair Lvl. 3 Runs
    Ancient Tunnels Runs
    Sewer Lvl. 2 Runs
    Forgotten Temple Runs
    Ruined Fane Runs
    Disused Reliquary Runs
    River of Flame Runs
    Chaos Sanctury Runs
    World Stone Keep Runs
Throne of Destruction and Baal Runs

For rune hunting, I would do the:

    Flayer Jungle Rune Runs
    Countess Rune Runs
    Hephasto Rune Runs

The Countess usually drops 3 runes on players 1 (don't go any higher, because she starts not dropping as many). It is a wonderful place to shop runes. However, she only goes up to ist on her regular rune drop.

kill as many high lvl monsters as possible at as high player settings as possible, or kill as many actbosses as possible at ~p1-3

    for items - wear MF
    for runes - kill fast

wear as much MF as possible withotu sacrificign to much killing speed. for runes, MF doesnt matter, only the % each monstyer ha of dropping 1, this cannot be changed. good areas for runes are river of flame and hepahsto and the countes (for mid-lvl runes)

My routine is usually wp to catacomb lvl2, do andarial, tp to durance of hate kill meph, wp to frigid highland kill eldrich and shenk, back to harragoth kill pindle, and go to wsk to kill baal and things along the way. This way I'd at least have some variety, and get bored less. But now that they put those freakin OK in there, I tend to go to WSK less, man my zealot used to own in there. :(

There isn't a absolute list of what chars are good for what, it's really depends on your play style.

Hammerdins can do pretty much anything fast enough especially if you have some way of teleporting. Skelimancers can do Baal runs more safely than hammerdins but they are a bit slower overall for most areas on high players. And there is always the sorc that has good speed with fairly good survivability.

Edit: @geep: Hephasto is the smith type monster near the hellforge in the river of flame who drops the hellforge hammer you need to smash Mephisto's soulstone.

Maybe I'm skeptical, but how could someone not know who hephasto is? Do people do quest these days?

My comment is not directed to this particular post, but rather a trend in general. Every time a new area/monster was thought to have some value, you'd get tons of question about where it is. Heck I've seen lots of people with godly (their word, not mine) char/equiptment don't know where the pit is.

I love my fishymancer for running the pit - you can also build one up very untwinked and use perfect topaz socketed gear for decent magic find. For Mephisto I use a FO sorcy. Next is a SC Hammerdin to run Baal =)

When a necro minions kills, does the Necromancers MF come into play?

Yes when a minion gets a kill, it calculates your MF.

I love my skellimancer (more of a CE necro though) too, he can do MF at every possible place, without much difficulty. I can't say he is the best and most versatile, because I haven't try out other MF specific characters in 1.10 yet.

Milamber: I believe it does. However my skellies seldom kill anything on their won.

Excellent, thanks for that I was sure this was the case, but also sure that I wasn't as sure as I could be

I am still in normal on my Poison/Fishy crossover...so I am not so sure about their killing rate
