mfer help

    mfer help

    guys i have a blizzard mfer who is currenty lvl 75 and is on hell

    my problem is that i have -20 ci and fi
    and -60 pi in hell

    i'm using

    p topaz shako
    tal ammy
    p topaz tal armor
    tal belt
    manald
    nagel
    occy
    splendor
    wt
    and chancies

    mephisto kills me wit two kills
    andy kills me wit one shot of that green thing

    any suggestions wuld b appreciated

    75 is a little low to start running Hell imho - leveling to 80 does wonders. At least, don't go toe-to-toe with Mephisto at that level, use the moat trick to take him down.

    Otherwise, I hate to say the obviuos, but the solution to low resistances is to get some +resistance gear! Switch your occy for a Wiz spike, for instance. Hold the occy (or even better an Ali Baba or Gull) on your switch for the killing blow.

    Block + max lightning resistance should make Mephisto a breeze (you can block the blue ball, and resists take care of his other attacks), against andy try to get max poison resist and something like Death's Glove (swapping a few pieces of gear is really worth the added survival when you are starting a new MFer IMO).

    lvl 75 is a low level to be at mefisto so you would train by seting the character set to 8 by pressing enter and tyoing /players 8

    hell is g8 :thumbsup:

    Can that be done on the closed realms, too? I thought it was only in Single Player..

    hmm... my mf stuff..

    I have a lvl 87 mete/fireball/frozen orb sorc. She can rush hell (the entire thing) and do.. whatever she wants :). She also takes out fire/cold immunes (even if they are LE enchanted).

    Gear:
    Shako (ist)
    Hoto (perfect)
    Spirit (perfect)
    Arachnid mesh belt
    Soj
    31% mf ammy
    rare ring with 10% fcr and 10 mf and some resists
    39% mf chance guards
    38% mf wartravs
    Chains of Honor armor
    anni (14 all res)
    gheeds (31% mf)
    ....
    Her fcr is 105% (just right, woot)
    Her total mf is 264%
    Her resists are 57 / 75 / 75 / 75
    Her damage is: Fireball: 5652-6200 Meteor: 12k-13k Frozen Orb: 445-466
    If I get her to lvl 99 she'll be doing about 8-9k fireball and around 16k meteor.

    These are my hard points spent on skills, i have +12 skills from items too:
    1 telekinesis
    1 static
    1 teleport
    1 warmth
    8 f mastery
    11 firebolt
    20 meteor
    20 fireball
    20 frozen orb
    5 cold mastery
    rest into pre reqs

    *edit: forgot stats*
    hard stats are: 146 str, 35 dex, 274 vit, 65 energy.
    My end stats (after items equiped) are: 198 str, 67 dex, 328 vit, 87 energy

    She's not a cheap build right now (and is gonna get better as I go...) but I built her up from cheaper stuff. Like wizardspike -> occulus -> occy with 15% all res jewel -> hoto. Armor was some random stuff till I got vipermagi, then I got upgraded vipermagi, now I have chains of honor. Started with tarn helm, then shako with p topaz, now shako with ist. Etc. Not impossible if you work for it. Also, I could delete and remake considering I could put 40 more points from str into vit now that I have chains of honor and +20 attribute anihilus. Atleast that much, anyway. All she needs is 156 for her shield... but I built her before I had all the good stuff.

    Also, if you wanna know why I have 8 f mastery and 11 firebolt instead of maxing f mastery first...

    I'm focusing on fireball rather than meteor. And if you go to a skill calculator (d2skills.com) you can see exactly what damage you'll be doing with so many hard points and so many +skill items. I plan on have +12 when I'm completely finished, so have 14 f mastery and 17 firebolt gives me a 16k meteor and the highest damage fireball I can get with +12 skills. (at lvl 99). So I'm keeping f mastery and firebolt between 3-4 skills apart. This is min-maxing at it's craziest, but I had a sorc with max meteor/fireball/f mastery, and the damage wasn't enough cuz I use fireball more than meteor. Deleted and remade, now cold immunes are *much* easier.

    Oh, and this build can deal with fire/cold immunes like this:

    Line up your target with a wall, and use telekinesis to knock him back and hold him to the wall.

    Now your merc walks up and kicks his arse. :). I've had to deal with 4-5 of these doing hell chaos sanctuary before... no problem.
