MF Sorc = Blizzard vs fireball/meteor vs hell

I wanna make a new Mf Sorc to make some Meph runs in Hell

So far I'm building it around Chromatic Ire Cedar Staff (+3 all skill , +1 to every mastery) and orb + lidless wall.

But I dont know if I want to use a shield with a sorc.

My real problem is :

Pur blizzard sorc rules vs Meph in Hell. PROBLEM : Lord something is minute to cold.

Pure fireball/meteor?


Or Can I make a fireball/f mastery with blizzard+ c. mastery plus synergie

My main skill would be blizard in that case.

What u guys think? Remember, I just wanna find ubber stuff so If I go pure cold forget about Nilhatak temple and if I got pure fire, forgot about pit....

Should I only concentrate on Meph Hell?

in general blizzball should be a pretty good build.

I'm doing one ATM.

20 blizzard
20 glacial spike (can sub icebolt for synergy at your preference, but I like the freeze area from glacial spike)

1 cold mastery (+skills to boost)

20 fireball
20 meteor (synergy for fireball, and good to replace blizz for CI)
1 fire mastery (+skills to boost)

prereqs of course

1 telekinesis
1 teleport
1 frozen armor

I'm using full tal's ptopaz'd, magefist/chance guards, war travelers, 2x nagelring. This char is geared for MF and regular play and seems to work rather well. The only weakpoint I have ATM is the shield, currently I'm using a Pdiamond socketed Ward for resists, but I'd like to snag a Lidless and Pdiamond it.

And with the char u posted your rating u can do Meph in Hell or other mf run easealy? And finding acceptable stuff?

I got a pure fire sorc using fireball and meteor for doing MF runs at meph in hell. And she does wonders. She is fast and never dies and has about 500% MF.
I'm using the full Tal Rasha set and two sojs magefist, and a lidless. I got an alibaba and a rhyme shield on switch.
As said so many times - It's better to do many fast runs with a bit lower MF then to sacrifice killingspeed for a high MF and thus making slower runs.

my experience with bliz / fireball is completely positive. bliz takes mep out in no time, and at the same time keeps you out of danger. and a good FB like you had listed somewhere above will get you rid of the CI's. i would maybe throw a few extra points into cold mastery, unless you get some goooooood +skills gear.

I use a pure fire sorc for kick-*** Mephi running in Hell. I only ever have problems if i accidentally lure Maffer Dragonhand to my party (happens 1 out of 10 runs) and he happens to be Fire Immune. (happens 1 out of 5 times I meet him)

The moat trick makes sure Mephi stays in the same spot all the time, and if your meteor does 1k+ fire damage per second, the afterburn really starts to kick in. Gogo lvl 30 meteor! ^^

Well my pure fire sorc kills meph pretty fast. No moat trick for me... usually just stand in front of him, drop a meteor, static, then alternate between dropping meteors and spamming fireballs at him. A good merc helps but you may have to pop him a rejuv occasionally since meph is unleechable. Be sure to run Andy too since she's extremely easy with a fire sorceress. I kill her in an average of 4-5 fireballs.

The Dark Ones surrounding Andy usually give me such a hard time I've given up on running her, I just run Mephi hardcore. -_-;;

Pure blizz is the best meph runner. I dont see what you worry about in durance 3. When you get there meph comes to you and i never get bothered by the cold immunes. I just tele to below the stairs then tank him. HE dies so fast anyways. YOu should also have a merc at all times also. Pindle is the easier imho for a blizz sorc. I go though portal tele to front shoot 2-3 glacial spikes all freeze then blizz. They all die. If pindle is ci then m merc kills him. My sorc nor my merc wore anything spectacular.

Btw why do you need to kill blood lords anyways? Arn't you just running meph. After a couple of runs i think you'll know what i mean about blood lords never bothering you.

go pure blizz, its the best imho.
