MF Question

Hi all

I have just gotten my mf sorc some decent mf and with about 200mf i began to run hell pits and hell andy. I was able to get a few good drops but ever since i havent gotten anything from pit runs. Is my mf stil too low or is this a run of bad luck?

It's just a bad luck spell, although it wouldn't hurt to increase your MF a bit. However, only increase MF if it doesn't decrease survivability.

also the pits do not have a increased chance of dropping a set/unique. bosses like mephisto have an inherently larger chance to drop a shiny object. monsters in the pit have the same chance at dropping sets/uniques as any other normal monster. the reason people run the pits is thats is a lvl85 area and it can drop *any* unique. so do not expect to gain much without a whole lot of runs.

Anyway - you can make your chances higher by running Pit in big games (moreplayers --> more drops, less chance for no drop). More mf wouldn´t be wrong (as 350-400%). Evrae Altana´s reservation that it should not decrease survivability (or killing power) is important though.

You should also take a look at rares/eths/magical items drped in these areas. Notice that eth ba or sup eth 4 soc tresher can be worth more than many elite uniques. You can find any rune here as well. Rare eth cristal sword with godly mods can be upped to pb gaining indestuct mod... etc, etc.

Maybe you don't really know what a "good item" is :p. I've built my 1.10 wealth on 8-players pit runs :clap: ! Don't underestimate those socketables ;) (*Hint*... *Hint*...) !

You have just used up your 200 MF already. It is just like you have $200 to buy unique items.

Elite uniques - 40 to 100 MF required.
Exceptional uniques - 20 to 50 MF required.
Normal uniques - 1 to 30 MF required.

You have probably got a few pieces of uniques and exhaust your MF pool already. Get some new MF equipment to replace your old ones, or else you will have just like 0% MF. :(

Anything below TC87 are crap items... :)

That's one of the TC's that gets skipped in the downgrading, right? It has something to do with the different TC categories. I believe TC81 downgrades to TC75. I think Thrugg or Jarulf posted something long and complicated about that, but I can't seem to find it.

TC78 is rarer than TC81 for some monsters, the reason probably being that some of the best uniques in the game is in it (Arkaines, Stormlash to mention the most known).

You'll notice that TC54 is ridiculously rare as well, and that is where the 1.07 class specific uniques, skullders, vampire gaze and more is...

Well i suppose a late reply is better then none at all. If you are wondering what gear i have for that 200 mf i have. Most of this came from Hell Andy and Nightmare D.

Armor-Skulders
Helm-Tarn Helm
Gloves-Chance Guards
Ring-21 MF ring
Boots-War Trav

I am aware that not all godly items are uniques and I am collecting good eth items if i see them. The problem was just a run of bad luck i guess.

I have been doing many, many pit runs with 600% MF and while I do find some nice items (at least I consider them to be nice) I have yet to find something that couldn't have been found on a boss run and it is a bit disheartening. Just need to keep doing them, over and over and hope you'll get something eventually.

Wow 600mf seems a bit excessive to me but anyways i have been doing a great deal of meph/andy runs in hell and now i only pit run 1 out of evry 5 boss runs. This seems to be the most effective way to me but to each his own.
