    MF league 2010 round 7 - Act III temples (area 85)

    After a litle longer break another round of MF league is here
    This time you are going to very dark and very interesting area of D2 game
    Even in ACT III are some interesting 85 areas

    here you have link for tournament : MFO league 2010

    General rules :

    1. You will run Act III temples with area level 85 (Forgotten Temple,Ruined Fane,Disused Reliquary)
    2. SC/HC, both are allowed
    3. Patch 1.10+ all are allowed , all mods are allowed (from vanilla up to CRM)
    4. Start of round will be this Friday 15 October 0:00 end of round will be next Sunday 24 October 23:59 (time is based on your local time)
    5. This time you have 20 hours of running time to do your result
    6. Your order will be based on score from top 5 items you will find during your runs
    7. Round is open for everyone on SPF not only for players sign in in list but if someone new want to play this round, write me PM please
    8. First 5 players in this round will recieve victory points to MFO league (from 5 to 1 points)
    9. Your TOP 5 you will send me via email to mario (dot) babunek (at) seznam (dot) cz
    10. Score list is here pindle
    11. Please do not post your qualifiers to discussion thread first then round will not be over and I will post results
    12. After I will have all results I will post a results here and I will set up a table of victory points to MFO league

    This thread is for all about discussion of this round so feel free to post your feelings from rune hunting :)

    I'm definitely in. I'm not sure what build to use - I'm going to do a few test runs and see what immunities there are.

    Well since my restart, I do have a character who has nearly reached Act III Hell, a level 78 blizzsorc in the Ancient Tunnels. Her equipment leaves a bit to be desired for this competition though :)

    10 FCR Amulet
    Lore Skull Cap
    Spirit Long Sword
    Spirit Monarch
    Rockfleece
    29 Str/11 FR Belt (which I can't even easily replace because of Spirit, ugh)
    12 MF/9 FR Gloves
    25 MF/8 PR Boots
    10 FCR/8LR Ring
    7 MF/27 CR Ring

    Of course, when I win this round, the victory will seem much sweeter, so I'm not complaining!

    Looking forward to this. Not sure if I'll use my Frenzy Barb or my Poisonmancer...Probably the Mancer, although I'll have to respec for Enigma.

    That list says an Enigma physical/poison build (Windy, Barb, PMancer) or Dual tree sorc (fire/light)...

    I've been testing a 105FCR teleporting (enigma) singer. Very effective. Plenty of damage on /p1. Taunt brings all the archers in close, and I have a 53% hork chance for bosses. The fast teleporting makes the travel-time between all the temples manageable. The tight spaces make the small radius of war cry less annoying. I think he'll be my main runner here...

    Sorry for the double post, but I just had an odd practice run. Forgotten Temple and Disused Reliquary were uneventful, but the Ruined Fane had no monsters. None. No bossess, no minions, no champions, nothing. Completely empty. Weird. They were back the next run...

    I´ve heard that once before - someone who found it empty. The smallest population I´ve seen there myself is three regular Blood Divers.



    I like the idea of this round of the competition - to enter and try to dominate some of the toughest places in the game. I think I´ve lost as many characters in these temples than everywhere else combined.

    I may even take some of my retired tourney characters out to try it. Unfortunately, none of them is a particularly fast killer, I think. Is it OK to go through several HC characters? Because if I am spending 20 hours in there, I WILL get killed more than once!

    Well, i am in again. hoping to fill out the top ten nicely...again.
    I'll start with my lvl 78 singer, and if that's overly lame, i'll switch to my lvl 77 boneR.

    i completely agree that this is a nice change for mfing. they can be harder areas than normal, but short, very short.

    They are very tough areas. I have a very well-geared singer and I've had a few deaths with my practice runs. There have been a few multi-boss, multi-aura packs where if the bosses don't get stunned right away, my singer gets in trouble fast. I'm going to try some more builds before we start - I think something a bit more ranged might be safer. We'll see - it will make for an interesting and fun week...

    Just a question about the scoring...I see that schaefer's is # 5, after the items which all have a 1/3 chance of dropping (wands/scepters/staves) compared to normal items. Is this because schaefer's is actually the 5th rarest item, or simply the 5th most useful opinion in the MF league's eyes?

    yikes.
    i have NOT seen one of those drop down there yet, but i have seen two isengards breastplates and a venomward in one run. Miracles i tell you.

    Hey everyone.. What are ur avg run times? I have done a couple of test runs with my fishy (and I have no enigma), each run is taking around 13 mins; I think I'll reduce my mf gear and try running again now.
    EDIT : I am better off not participating this round. My main mfers are dead and fishymancer is very slow to run these areas.

    4 minutes with a kick/trapper. BoS helps a lot running between the temples and I rolled a map that has the WP and Upper Kurast temple next to the Causeway entrance. IMO you need teleport to be even close to competitive on this round because of the low number of bosses and a lot of running around. 5 hours done and 2 qualifiers by the way :x .

    Have not run yet.

    I am about 70 WSK/Baal runs away from Lvl 98, and that is where my focus is for now (if not for deaths, would of been there 300 runs ago).

    Hopefully, I'll be able to get some Temple time in before Sunday.

    Have just sent my results, ended up with 12 Qualifiers from about 200 runs, 126 runes found including 2xMal and a Pul, ran with a WWBarb mainly at P7 and popped most chests, bone and skull piles.
