MF Hammerdin question

So, my first Guardian was a hammerdin that I completed the game with while playing with another member here. Since then, I took all his caster gear and gave it to a new sorc, then gave all her caster gear to my necro. I don't think that's a fun way to play anymore so I'll be leaving gear with characters until I "retire" them. I'll be leveling my necro and then running cow level for runes. I'd like my paladin to run Baal.

Looking for any tips/advice!

I have a low-end Viper, but I kinda like the +15% res on the Guardian Angel, giving me pretty good resists. Is 98FCR going to be enough? I have a pair of Trang's gloves and another 10%FCR ring. I have a Gheed's and some random little +MF% charms.

Well the FCR breakpoints for a Paladin are:

10       75
9        125
So if you can reroll a better spirit, you can aim for 125%. Otherwise, go for 75% and enjoy a bit more gear freedom!

You can swap out rings or amulet for something different.

Curious, can all the items that drop NM meph/Baal drop on hell meph/Baal?

My plan is to run meph then run Baal until I find the items I need.

Since you are level 90 already, you might be better off running Hell Meph or Hell Chaos Sanctuary. Baal is a bit more annoying for a Hammerdin due to Wave 2 immunities.

Run Countess for Spirit runes, or LK. Run Hell Meph for other gear, look for Harlequin Crest and Skullders for the other slots. Pump Lightning resist for the passive bonus with your spare points. Craft Amulets with anything left over.

This is pretty good advice. I can farm Meph/LK and slowly build up his gear while possibly finding HR's and gear for my Necro/Barb/Sorc. Thanks!

One thing I would add, depending on how serious you are about MF with this character. LK running for Enigma runes is the optimal route, the worry about the Shako later. That will also mean you don’t need to run the countess either.
