mf hammerdin item help please

i've desided to use my hammerdin for mf runs when it is a higher levl (67) at the moment, the items i currently have and am considering for mf later on are

weapon : wizzards spike (i really needed the +manna and resistanses for hell)

Shield: i currently have a 4 soc pala shield with +38 to resists 134 def and 60%blocking i was thinking maybe one or two p. diamonds just to have nice resists and maybe a ist? although i doubt i'll have any maybe some nice jewls? (i also have the set shield with plus 20%mf maybe have the first shield for resists and then switch for boss kills

Gloves: chances for obvious reasons although i have frost burns if i use different weapon but still need mana.

Belt: nothing special at the moment, would like goldwrap or maybe acnids for +1 to skills, any ideas which would be best and how hard they are to find/trade for.

Boots: i have +20% or 30% mf with some other mods.

Helm: i have an artisans helm which will be used for 3 p.topazes

Armour: i currently have a ornate armour lined up (4 soc) however the str requirements are 170 mine are curently 100 aprox and i dont want to spend all my stats in there, would it be easy to trade it for a 4soc armour with less str requirements or how hard would one be to find?

rings: might have to use these for resists untill i find some nice ones when doing mf runs i have some little mf rings +17% and so on would they be worth using? what ones would you recomend looking out for? soj for + skills or nagale rings how hard are nagale rings to find/trade for what would the price be?

i know my stuff isn't good but its my first ladder charc and im not that good on diablo anyway so any help would be apriciated thanxs

Armor: Grisword +3 ptopaz (good defance, + skills +20 to str!)

weapon: Blade of Ali baba

Shield:Luna shield (good +dex and life my block advanced to %65)

belt:nosferatu's (+15 str)

boot:War traveler

Hand:Mage fist

Gheed's chamr and some 7sc, total mf: 410

410 mf is really great for a paladin, my fcr as a 40-70. life is 1600, mana is 300.

i'm assuming griswold's heart (set ornate plate) is what you mean... what skills does that have? +2 defensive does not help a hammerdin out AT ALL unless you count +2 to your meditation/redemption as + to skills.

while three sockets is nice, many better armors have three sockets... or you could go with enigma +2 all skills and MF & str based on lvl.

sorry if my point wasn't made, diablo clone just walked in my game while doing this so i had to get out my clone killer and **** him (kill time was 31 seconds because of lag =( ... oh well an anni is an anni)

edit: just make a sorc to MF for you... i'm very math oriented, so i'll show you with a formula:

tele + high dmg with full MF gear = sexy

edit again: didn't think that would be *'d out. i did not mean to imply i had forced sex with dclone just to clear things up.

using:
ptop harq = 74% mf
+2 pally skills some res +16% mf rare ammy
ptop skullders = 122% mf i beleive
weap slot 1 = wizspike/hoz
slot 2 = alibala (still open) and rhyme = 104% mf
26% nagel
raven frost / 23% nagel
38% chance (i think)
30% goldwrap
34% wartravs

i 5% charm for a total 345% against everything cept bosses and 449% for kill shot on bosses

merc also has bonehew (open sockets) and 2 ptop gris helm and 3 ptop gris armor for another 140% mf when i have him out

not a bad set up...but still havent found nething great...a few good/okay items...but nothing spectacular

neways...im kinda new to "the pit" i foudn were its at....which boss u go after...or do u go to second lvl and go for the chest? thanks in advance

My Hammerdin had a poor-man's setup for quite some time, but he could run most areas fairly quickly with minimal trouble.

The Ultra Poor Setup

Helm: Good rare, or magic circlet with resists and MF//3 PTopaz Helm
Armor: 4 PTopaz Armor
Belt: Nightsmoke(Never have mana worries ever again )
Rings: MF rings, hopefully with resistances.
Gloves: Rare with MF and Resist or Chance Guards.
Amulet: Good Magic amulet with Magic Find
Boots: You can shop 35%+ MF boots at most vendors in late NM-Early Hell.
Weapon: Spectral Shard
Shield: I used a 4 socket paladin shield that had a base of +29 resist all. I socketed it with 4 PDiamonds and it took care of a HUGE chunk of my hell resists. Though while this is nice, it might be hard to find one with decent blocking and defense.

Eventually I upgraded him a bit, but the above setup with maybe an Ali-Baba or gull on switch with Rhyme, it's not half bad for soloing. Given I found these things by playing through the game full clearing every area one time, it shouldn't be too hard to muster.

Use a mageplate for the 4 topazes, it's relativily easy to find

The shield can be used with 2 shaels and 2 pdiamonds (nice with block) and switch to a nice 2 sock shield later on with res all for rhyme.

Ravenfrost/Nagel rings is the best ring setup, the raven for CBF, Mana, and dex (statpoints saved for max block), the nagel for the mf.

Wiz spike/ blade of ali baba is the best weapon setup, as you use wiz for general killing of monsters and blade of ali baba for boss monsters.

War travs is an opption, but if you need the resistances then you have to use rare boots. Look for boots with FHR and FRW

Helm: Is there any secondary mod on the artisans helm? an opption is to get a shako w/ ptopaz (not very expensive to trade for).

Belt: Go for Goldwrap or a rare belt with statpoints, FHR, res and life

A little tip is to start in NM with mephisto, the council, the minions to Baal, and diablo as targets

If you can get 300% mf on bossmonster kills and decent kill speed you are set to go.

Seriously, if you don't have Enigma (which I could understand) - then the next best armour it Vipermagi - get as high resist on it, and socket it with either an Um (if perfect 35) or a ptopaz
