mf frustration

i've got a little over 400 mf on my sorc. she wears:
gull dagger
3 ptopped mask
24 % chancies
24% nagel
23% rare ring
23% rare ammy
ryhme sheild
ptopped vipermagi (can't afford skulders)
24% rare boots
30% gheeds
so i'm not sure what else i can afford as i can't find anything decent (andy runs mostly)...
i'm thinking i should get wartravs = 40% and yes eventually skulders. any cheap mf items suggestions?

Just don't get your hopes too high:

400% mf -> 153% better chance for unique
400% mf -> 222% better chance for set

500% mf -> 166% better chance for unique
500% mf -> 250% better chance for set

600% mf -> 176% better chance for unique
600% mf -> 272% better chance for set

As you can see, chances for "good stuff" won't be increasing a lot.

An upgraded gold wrap will give you another 30 plus gold find. Also get a 3 socket dusk shroud or archon plate and you can make a wealth armor (Lem, Ko, Tir) fairly cheaply (100 to MF and more gold find). When you find an Ali baba put a couple magic find jewels in it. It will only cost you a Hel rune to unsocket it when you have a pair of Ists. The rare ammy / rare boots combo only gives you 47 MF, you can get a Tancreds ammy and boots. That combo will give you 78 MF.

All of these are fairly cheap.

Perfect war travs add 50 MF 10 st and 10 vit,10 faster run walk and a few other mods. Tancred boots and ammy gives you +15 to lightening damge (woo hoo :yawn: ) 78 to mf and 30 faster run walk.

A perfect fortuitous amulet of Fortune will give you 40 MF so this and the perf travs are better for + magic find. They are also expensive. Tancreds boots and ammy are fairly easy to come up with.

My suggestion would be to get more MF charms and use some good killing gear to make your MF runs quicker.

24 Chance Guards are horrible, I'd say ditch those and use magefist, trade a few pgems for a Tarnhelm, I saw a 47% one going for 9 pgems on West Hardcore Ladder in the trade forums, so they're cheap. If you can't get your hands on War Traveler, do a few NM cow runs and look for Cow King's Hooves. 25% MF and some dex, or trade them for better stuff... or go for the tancred's combo mentioned earlier. My MF necro uses that combo, it's nice. The upgraded goldwrap was a good idea, go with that, or a Tal Rasha's Belt.

I think a splendor runeword shield would be a better fit, since you're really hurting for +skills stuff. You're only losing 5 MF (the bigger hit will be the cannot be frozen and 25 resist all).
