    MF and Rune drop rates

I'm running countess right now, and haven't found a high lvl rune (pul or up) since I began (2 days ago). My character has no mf because I heard mf doesn't affect rune drops. Could someone set this strait for me? And link me to where you got your information, thanks.

No mf doesnt affect rune drops, about the countess, it is normal, because there are other runes with more possibility to fall so usually those are the ones that fall..my highest rune in countess was a hel rune and i have around 360mf :p

Ehh, MF affects the quality of the item, that is, if it is unique, set, rare or magic. It doesn't affect what type of item (base item) you get. So it won't affect if you get a sword, a rune, a key or a helmet and so on, only the quality of the items that DO drop. I think this is stated on any page that explains what MF do, including Blizzard's own AS pages on MF.

so mf won't affect IF a rune drops, but it will affect WHAT rune drops?

As allready said, no. Different runes is actually different base items. And of course, runes can't be unique, set, rare and so on, so MF won't affect anything at all about runes.

kk.. I'm just a little biased... I've run countess over 1k times and not recieved one high level rune (pul above). so.. i guess im just unlucky.

This should be pretty much what your looking for:

    http://www.diabloii.net/items/item-generation.shtml

As for countess, she buys her els and eths in six-packs at wal-mart (thats a quote from an age-old post about meph and IK mauls, but i like it  ) She will occasionally drop four runes which makes it possible to get runes for spirit, insight etc in 1 run (please tell me if that happens to anyone!).
