Metalgrid IG charges + summoning tree

Whats the deal with this setup? Atm, I've got 4 in golem mastery and 0 in Iron golem. Metalgrid has lvl 22 ig charges.

If I use the charges, will my golem be a lvl 22 with 4 in the mastery, or will it ignore the mastery? I hope that was clear enough to understand

Mastery will be applied to your IG.

Thanks Mad, I've build up a good supply of windhammers and ik mauls so I'll max the mastery and use the charges for a beefy golem

Just to be on the safe side. You do know that if you have no hardpoints in IG he will vanish at the end of the game, right? This means that the Metalgrid IG will disappear at the end of the game if you have no skill point in IG.

Thats a good bit of info Mad. Also, depending on your equip some necros can get an IG around lvl 22 or sometimes higher with just +skills, which would be stronger and safer.

hmm..

bah..

when you enter a new game the IG is 'recast' by the game right? does he then use your skills or the Metalgrid values?

(assuming you have put one point in IG so he won't poof)

This "recast" you speak of doesn't affect the base item he was created from correct? He'd be the same thing?

You got me there. I think your skill value. What level does the skill say it is at when you look at the description when you are wearing Metalgrid?

Eh? I lied in my 1st post, I have 1 point in ig but thats besides the point so lets simplify (or complicate) the matter.

Build: naked Fishymancer with a metalgrid, 1 point in golem mastery and 1 in iron golem.
1.On 1st cast, the golem will be a 1 mastery/22 iron golem right?
2. When it recasts, will it be 1/1, 1/22 or 20/22?

You got me there. I think your skill value. What level does the skill say it is at when you look at the description when you are wearing Metalgrid?

when you wear an item that gives charges to a skill you already have, you have the choice of using those charges or using your native skill and burning mana.

so being that the game screws your hotkeys when you rejoin my suspicion would be that it will resummon the golem from your native skill level

Native skill level does sound more like how the game would treat things.

The game doesn't save where the IG came from, only the item. So my guess is native skill too.
