Mercenary equiping

I keep on reading about how mercs can be equipped, but do not know how to do it, so can someone please show a newcomer the ropes? I am not playing online, only single-player nad have version 1.10. Thanks.

Hit the letter 'o' button to open up his stats page. From there, just drag and drop items onto their proper locations.

As a reminder, mercenary equipping only works on expansion.

also notice that the merc has his own strength, dexterity, life etc. Items level requirements needs to be met by the merc in order to put them on him

Mercenary equiping can only be done in Expansion games, Classic games do not have this feature. Also, in Expansion, the mercenary stays with you while you switch Acts.

You can also drag and drop equipment onto his character portrait as well. if he has an empty slot it will be equiped, much like if you used a potion on him.

You can also give your mercs potions by holding +shift and 1-4 (for your belt). It really comes in handy when they're low lvl.
