Mercenary and chance to hit

Hi there!

AFAIK hirelings chance to hit improves every time they lvl up but I don't know if this is calculated with some kind of hidden AR for them or is this fixed chance dependant on difference between their and monster level. I run Baal for exp and items with necro summoner which I like very much cause I'm lazy and it's extremely safe and peaceful ;)

Baal killing factor is ofc might merc equiped with duress, wilhelm's pride and upgd eth hone sundan (CB rules). With my summons he kills Baal in around 30 sec which I find quite good result but I want more ;)

OK let's get down to business :) If I put ETH runes into his weapon does his chance to hit Baal improve or not? Anyone have checked that or do I need to hope that while merc's chance to hit is calculated his hidden AR (if it exists) and Baal's def are considered?
If not I'll stick 2 shaels :)

The calculation for the chance to hit from the strategy compendium (see my sig) is used for mercs as well. It depends on the attacker's ar, the defender's dr (surprise !), but also on the levels of the two.

Eth runes will improve the chance to hit, of course, but they work only at half strength versus bosses.

I guess your merc doesn't wear Wilhelm's Prige, but Guillaume's Face.

I know the chance to hit formula and also the fact that eth runes will work with half strength vs Bosses but still he will benefit more than from shael runes. The problem is that I was not sure that it's used for merc too beacause one can't see what their AR could be. Anyway if he uses this formula than it's great.

Ofc he wears Guillaume's Face as you mentioned. I play polish version and made a stupid mistake :D
