the big question is: Does the cold dmg on reapers/rw make bodies shatter or not?, since i tried a a5 merc with death and that just doesnt work... too much shatter from the glacial procc

Do you do the killing or does the merc?

For my GF barb set up, my merc does the killing and uses and eth Infinity Thresher, Eth glitched Wealth and for now a non-eth crown of theives.

It works very well...

my merc does the killing, infinity aint an option for me though , wanna keep the price down , and as i said, my main question is does the small amount of cold dmg on reapers/rw make bodies shatter or not? , would like to know from someone thats tested

I have heard that the cold damage from Obiedience could pop the bodies and then you wouldn't be able to hork them.

At first, I jumped on Obediance because it's so easy to make and it's an amazing weapon for what it costs. The problem is that it has cold damage. That means I may "pop" the bodies and the horking becomes not possible..

Anyhow, I aquired a Needle, so I'll be using it.
If I find it's ridiculously long to kill, I'll start over and get a high crushing blow setup.

Not sure about the reapers though I would think it would be the same. What about a Viperfork or Arioc's Needle?

Reaper's toll works just fine, bodies rarely shatter. It helps vs physical immunes, I don't like to skip council members :smiley:

I use an eth lacerator (eth for less dex req) to break the PI council member and a life tap wand on the switch to help out my merc to leech when need be.

are u completely sure?, didnt think decrepify broke phys immunes, its a no brainer choice then if it does, reapers ftw, cant shatter too much

In my experience the ones that are immune in Travi gets broken. I havent seen any that doesnt.

But this goes for Travi only.

I use Obedience (eth Thresher) on SP, not more than 2-3 bodies shatter per run (i.e. you get to hork 8-9 corpses). I really don't see Infinity being better than eth Bonehew btw. Also focus on IAS after you have some life eech and crushing blow. I use a 60 IAS armor on the merc to reach 75 IAS Thresher bp and he's the fastest Travi killer I've played. Last thing to worry about would be CBF (which I do not have). However it's value comes after ias, cb and ll for me, since it fails to block HF aura.

Eth Hone Sundan wins many points for the 3 sockets and built in CB. If only I could find one on SP... ^^

So I've been out of d2 for awhile, but curious what the idea is behind the GF barb I keep seeing mentioned, is it just a gold finder who lets his hireling kill for the stacked gold find on merc + player? then hork the corpses for more lawls? Did they implement a good use for gold in the last two patches?

Gold is for gambling Anya in Hell and getting +3 warcry weapons from Malah.. Sometimes you get lucky and find a 3 to trap claw from Anya as well.

The general idea is to adorn in lots gf and let the merc kill.
