merc question

Im running a meteorb sorc right now. lvl 87 going through countess pits andy meph diablo pindle and baal. My gear is fine but im spect 100 % for MF so im lacking some killing power.

I have a holy freez merc but i dont realy want to trade for his gear i just want to use what i have found which is prety good in my opinion.

My merc has a Perfect ED Perfect LL Eth Reapers toll a Perfect DR perfect LL vamp gaze and a Shafstop with 30 DR (not sure if that varies or not).

I can run with little problems asside from maiden from time to time but i find he dies alot durring baals minions, specialy the councill members. Im assuming its because he only has around 5x res or so i think.

Now for the question.

All his gear has 1 OS and i dont know what to put into it. Im thinking UM for armor and helm to get max res but for his weapon im realy not sure. I dont have the funds to put a HR in it so i was thinking a shael for Attack speed but i dont know if he allready has enogh or not.

Any suggestions.

IMO if you aren't doing the Mephisto quest drop exploit (gasp...people freak out when that word is used) I'd remove him from your runs to save time.

I'd max out his life leech and resists. Attack speed wouldn't be bad, would help the LL.

doing a meph run takes me all of like 10 seconds to kill him, i dont think its that big of a deal. whats the best way to max his LL?

Unless you have a hack to get straight there, it doesn't take you 10 seconds to find him, that's the point...plus the crap drops don't make it worth it.

Shael is fine, ias is always nice, if u really wanted to gain more LL (which u really dont have to, since both Reaper and Vamp has pretty good LL), you can always stick an AMN in it; u know, knock back with nef is not too bad either.

I have a Norm Act 2 Merc (Defiance) (lvl 74 currently) who I am going to equip with a decent Doom weapon if I can get the runes or trade for one - thereby getting both the armour boost and the Holy Freeze (always on).

Is this a good endgame merc strategy?
