I have a lvl 90 might merc on my skelemancer that i use most often if solo mf runs. His current gear is amnamn bonehew, 3topaz griz, and guilmans face helm. I recently found a +4 arotic (sp???) and wanted to put it on him too buff up skeles. Only problem is that he kept dying. I'm not totally rich on the ladder but i do have a few decent things that i could trade to upgrade his gear if i need to (ie. no coh for me). His kill speed if fine with bonehew so I'm thinking i will stick with that but if you guys have any brilliant solutions they will be very welcome.

i would recommend to try for a crown of thieves or steelskull. the more life leech a merc has, the better. 2 amns is good, but my MF sorcs merc really started staying alive much easier when i added the extra 5% life leech from the steelskull. i think the crown has even more, but the steel has FHR and IAS as well (AND MF... so thats my 1st pref, but crown is a close second).

i cant think of an inexpensive armor off the top of my head right now, but i know they have to be out there, try for as much LL as you can possibly get. my sorcs has 19%, my barbs has 25%, etc etc. they do die ever now and then, but its getting pretty rare, especially as they are getting higher in lvls,and this hitting harder and harder.

My own Skelemancer merc just perfectly fine with his +4 ariocs, a crown of thieves, and a crappy rare archon I plate I found "ages ago". I won't replace that armor unless I find an Arkaine's Valor or trade for a +2 Arkaine's ---there's just no need to replace it.

I haven't even socketed the ariocs yet...

Will the loss of cb make bosses go slower? This is my only concern about putting on crown of theives

Crushing blow is certainly a good thing to have. I'm looking for a cb weapon for my merc, to use when the situation calls for it (like vs. dclone).

I don't see why your merc keeps dying :-( Amn-Amn gives 14% lifeleech; my own merc has 11% or 12% (don't remember), and I would have guessed that bonehew is doing more damage than ariocs.

He might be kickin the bucket cause he ain't hitting....just a thought. If he's death comes fast I dunno, if its slow use a second or 2 of lifetap...

HE does fine with the hew--- its when i switch to aritocs that he has problems

Alright since general concensus is drop the hew and go with ariocs ill do that...

Dont have a gaze but probably could get one ( they go for lower than um right???)
