    merc > army?

Question--as a fishymancer, is my merc supposed to kick my army's butt? I can have 10 skeletons and like 6 mages but it seems like my merc can take down stuff faster than all of them, and I'm an untwinked noob so it's not like he has great gear... is it supposed to be that way?

Long answer, the skellies are there to hold the frontline, certainly from an untwinked perspective. Some players follow the merc around with the mouse pointer, waiting to cast CE as soon as the merc kills a monster.

On a somewhat related note, it seems like my skeletons are "smarter" than my merc, and way smarter than revives.

Why can't all AI be equal?

Because we are never equal (no matter what the PC brigade might tell you!).
