Meph farming question...

Meph farming question...

So last week a made a pure blizzard sorc for the sole purpose of farming meph in baal games where I cannot complete the quest. It works great. I probably killed him 100+ times before tragedy struck last night and I accidentally killed him in completed my quest.

Now my dilemma is this:

A: Should I re-roll a new blizz sorc and keep farming him just like before

B: Should I re-roll a Lightning sorc for a little flavor and keep killing him

C: Should I just keep farming him on non-quest kills with my already leveled up sorc



I don't really mind leveling up another character. I have a friend that can rush me through norm and nightmare really quickly so thats not really an issue.

Another concern with the lightning sorc is mana. I havn't found too much sorc gear on my runs so I have around 500 mana with 0 points invested into energy on my current sorc. Is that enough for a LB sorc?

You'll have some serious mana problems at start, with a light sorc. After you get a spirit (or two) it won't be such a big problem anymore, and if you use an Insight merc, it won't be a problem at all. With 600-ish mana, I can do a meph run and only use 1-2 mana pots, depending on how much I have to tele around durance level 2, and on the spawn on level 3.

With +10skills or thereabouts, Warmth does its job nicely (base 1 pt.)

Thankas... I really wanted to make a lightning sorc just to do something a bit different but was worried about having to chug pots all the time. I already spirit shield/sword but I will probably use wizardspike instead of the sword. I still get a good amount of mana from that so I should be ok then. Thanks again for the input

Is there still a drop difference between the quest kill and a non-quest kill? I thought that was patched away but what do I know.

Yes. Quest kill will cause the boss to only drop uniques/sets/rares/gems/runes

With full Tal's set, a ring that gives about +120 mana and an Insight merc (only level 12 aura) I regen mana faster on my light sorc than I can cast (I have about 70% FCR).
