    Melee mancer weapon of choice

    Melee mancer weapon of choice,

    lightsabre + sheal (+20ias)
    Phaseblade Passion (zeal innit)

    your pick and why.

off hand is the Poison malice dagger of coz.

out of those two, i'd go with passion phaseblade since it gives you something other then a regular attack which has always been my problem with melee builds on non-melee char's.

Go with what G said. The Zeal and Berserk are nice, but the AR boost is really nice.

4 sux phase blade is so rare.

well, I use Angelic partial set anyway, so Ar aint no problem.

angelic won't fix your ar problems completely. they do give it a GREAT boost, but it won't be all you need.

dont make it in a phazer. make it in a mythical. it has same the same range, and is a 4o/s max weapon. So it would be much easier to find then a 4o/s phazer.

Question: If I use Zeal from a "Passion" weapon and I have it on my left mouse button and reserve the right one for curses, don't I loose out on the AR bonus from Poison Dagger? I'm pretty sure I read that you have to use PD actively as your attack to get the AR bonus, or have I misunderstood things?

I'm sure The AR bonus from Zeal at least partially makes up for it, but it would be a bit of a bummer if you've already invested 20 skillpoint in PD...

yea you lose the pd bug.

can you put zeal on right click? if so, just assign keys for curses and zeal, and switch em around. pd on left at all times.

But you still won't use the PD attack, you'll use Zeal, so will it still work if you've got it selected to your left mouse button but actually attacking with Zeal on your right? I'm not so sure and besides, it's a bit of a hassle to have all your active skills on one button, methinks...

I believe you mean Cryptic Sword. Mythicals have a max of three sockets. Phases are faster than a Cryptic, and they don't have repair costs.

Ok, besides a great rare dagger (cruel 300%+, quickness mod, etc, etc) which enables you to use Poison Dagger constantly, I would like to introduce another weapon into the discussion.

Baranar's Star. Here we got an hefty AR bonus, physical, elemental damage. Combine with Lower Resists and Deadly Strike and the melee mancer has some potentially nice damage. 50% IAS too, and some stats.

The new and improved Azurewrath might be a better choice (but more expensive) for a melee mancer now a days. I you're damn rich, just Jah it for the ITD effect...

Passion is a nice treat, but offers less damage, except for physical damage.

Sourge / Berserker is also nice for Passion, btw. Zerker is a tad bit slower, and both weapons will have serious durability problems...

A weapon for a Meleemancer needs CB, OW or DS. Without it the damage is just to low.

Fleshripper is a really good dagger. Would be hard to choose between Fleshripper and a Fury Fanged Knife.

This is true, but factor in the cost of a fury fanged knife and it makes things easier. However if you are rich enough, we are back to square 1 lol.

if cost is no limiting factor
    go the fanged knife.
it just looks so much cooler than a pale bloke running around with a fish knife.
