I have heard of a problem with some graphics cards that causes similar problems when they get to hot. My brother had a problem where the colours where the screen flickered and then the colours got screwed up. After turning off the computer for a while it went back to normal. Don't know if this could be related but in a laptop it seems possible.Humphrey said:No, I meant when it was in Windows, not a full-screen game or something, it doesn't flicker.
I just ran D2 to see exactly how often it flickers, and it ran fine, which is good, but very odd. Hope it stays fixed. I wonder what was wrong before?
Go into the properties of your Diablo II shortcut, and add -w on the end of the target, like this:Llathias said:hijack: how do you play in windowed mod?
I had the short duration freezes as well when I first started to play LOD (1.10) on my old desktop (W98). The problem was caused by the sound options. The solution was either to enable or to disable the hardware acceleration option. I can't remember which one it was.Llathias said:there's also this annoying short duration freezes. For solution, I don't keep the CD in my driver after starting the game (though I never witnessed it in my new machine).
On the desktop, running Office, using IE, etc that's what I meant by 'in Windows'.Todesritter said:(btw, it is refered to as windowed mode when it is not full screen and running in a window, just so you know)
Try this; This just started today, when I play D2 the screen flickers every so often. It doesn't flicker in windows. It's a laptop screen. Any ideas as to what this could be?
