Max mana

Max mana

Hey,
I've been tweaking an excel spreadsheet to tell me my maxa mana at any level with a few givens (stats, lvl, equipment). Anyways when I calculate the max mana it's fine w/o +max mana%, but as soon as I add that it breaks the equation. I'm using the equation found in the strategy compendium, and it also matches what I get from a formula I derived from personal experience, but it doesn't conform to what I actually see in diablo. Here's some numbers/equipement:

lvl 73
base stats:
str: 52 (+42)
dex: 25 (+0)
vit: 318 (+308)
energy: 50 (+15)

harlequin crest (+1.5 mana/lvl, +2 energy)
mara's (+5 energy)
occulus (+20 energy)
lidless (+10 energy, +10% max mana)
frostburns (+40% max mana)
raven frost (+40 mana)
SoJ (+20 mana, +25% mana)
charms: +69

calculated mana:857
real mana: 775

so can anyone tell me a correct equation that properly models the mana curve?

What is that in brackets after your stats??? I would like to know what is your REAL base energy. What do those (+15) after 50 mean?

I guess he has 50 energy with no gear on (35 base + 15 stat points). He mentioned the stat points he pumped in every stat.

Ah, then indeed using the equation your results are correct as for the formula at strategy.diabloii.net. Since you get a different display you either have maybe missread some of your stats and items (which doesnt look like it!), or more likely the formula is wrong somwhere.

I don't know exactly how mana is calculated, but I got my calculator and after trying out a lot of things here's what I think is correct:
35 mana (starting 35 energy is 35 mana)+ 30(15 points in energy)+ 72*2(2 per lvl up)+ 69 (charms)+ 40(raven)+ 20(soj) = 338
338*1,75(soj+frostburns+lidless) = 591.5
591.5+37*2(energy from items) = 665.5
665.5+1,5*lvl(shako) = 773.5

The 1.5 mana difference can be based upon the fact that the game first rounds up after the multiplying from +%mana gear and then again after shako's +mana boost. If this is how it's done (and I believe it does :p) then note that +energy from items is not affected by +%mana gear and that your starting 35 energy points are worth only 35 mana.
After all this, don't know where the flaw is in the formula you're using but I think you can work that out for yourself now. Gl!

P.s. does anybody know how the +% mana gear works in combination with a cta?
