I love my hammerdin for two specific areas... RoF and Cow runs, w/ about 300 MF I am at 13K damage. I prefer that much damage b/c I do those runs on P8 & P4 and the faster the kill speed the better. Of course I am doing those runs for runes over items so MF for me isn't that big of a factor. I can safely pile on 500 plus MF if I want but that will drop my damage down to 8K.
As mentioned already though, you don't need damage nearly that high to be a successful hammerdin. Even at 5K damage things will be really easy on P1.
