Mavina FAzon help

Hello
Im making my first serius ama, Im been playing since the release.
My knowledge on amas isnt big, i have read som guides, and have been reading in this forum.

Any tips and ideas? Im not rich so mara and items like that isnt affordable.

First there is skills, i have maxed CA and FA, many seems to choose Strafe to deal with immunes, will Mavinas deal that much Physcícal dmg?
A very weird idea I have thought of would be to have javelins on switch and put some skills in that tree, would I be a too big sacrife on the Passive tree? Is fire skills to underpowered? How much Pierce should i have?
The Valkyr isnt a must to max right? How much skilllvl after equip would you say?

Sockets then, how much IAS do you recommend? Will a shael in the bow be enough? Or do i need to put in some IAS jewels? More tips on socketing? Cold facets is a little to expensive for me.

More tips on items and charms is welcome, i know about cold dmg scs =)

I made a FA/CA zon with 20 in CS and 20 in Lightning Fury. It was very successful even if I did drink more mana pots than a sorority girl during Rush Week. FA is awesome crowd control, Fury needs no introduction, and CS is THE boss-killing skill for a zon.

However, I wouldn't use that in a Mavina setup. You'll lose the full set bonuses when you switch to javs. I'd stick with Strafe. FA sucks mana really fast and Strafe is nice to leech it back. The physical damage is solid enough as it's a really fast attack. You need 120 IAS to hit 2-frame Strafe though. That's an IAS jewel in the helm and armor and a Cats Eye/Highlords as your amulet. You don't want to Shael the bow as you need Knockback, and a Nef in the bow is the only way to get it for a MavZon AFAIK.

Level 17 Valk is when she gets her top-of-the-line equipment and is what many people shoot for. I personally have found Valks to be a very strong with even 1 point and a few +skills, although I use her only as a meatshield and don't expect her to actually kill anything. I'd personally pump Penetrate and Crit Strike to beef up my Strafe before I pumped up Valk.

Do i really need knockback? If I where to use a +3 bow skils amu and shael the bow.. would that be such a bad idea?

I'd rather drop down a frame in Strafe speed than forego Knockback. It's HUGE, IMO, to a bowazon.

And +bow skills don't spawn on amulets, they spawn on gloves instead... and you're using Mav's gloves.

knock back is great i agree fully... except most monsters are frozen with a FA zon so i see it as less of a priority for them.

i have a full mav fa/lf zon and losing the full set bonuses is a pain, but with spirit/titans you have nearly the same amount of plus skills anyway. some of the other mods are missed though.

Knockback seems more useful on glass cannons or low-life Bowazons who need the extra degree of safety. Consider that you have FA (which stops most enemies for seconds at a time), Valk, Decoy, and Merc. In addition, M'avina's grants you large amounts of +skills which make your D/A/E good, big resists, etc. This makes even a "fragile" Mav user much tougher than the average negative-resists, high-Dex Bowazon.

BTW, there is no such thing as a +bow skills amulet. The best is a +1 or +2 Amazon skills amulet. If you want +bow skills, get Fletcher's GCs, and you'll like them on this build. Since you are going with a Nef in the bow rather than a Shael, maybe think about a Highlord's Amulet for +1 skills and 20% IAS. If you want to use another +1 or +2 amulet, then consider Shaeling the bow.

My FA/Strafer with M'avina's uses 2 IAS jewels in diadem and armor + Shaeled bow to hit 9/2 Strafe, IIRC, because she has a Mara's (+2 all skills, etc. but no IAS on it). I went high Dex on her for extra physical damage and she has around 400-500 life from what I remember. Haven't played her for a while.

I also suggest using "Insight" on your Merc, packing a couple +mana charms to bring your mana pool up, and loading up on leech or +mana per kill items to offset FA's high mana cost. If you reach around 400+ mana, you won't really need to bother with potions, even if your "Insight" Merc dies.
