    Mauler Weapon PvM

Im thinking about starting an werebear mauler, and I need advise on weapon.
I have a 5 sock cryptic axe and a 5 sock thresher. Thinking about putting Obedience in one of them.

    Questions:
    1. Is this a good weapon, I am not very rich, but are there better options I can get for the runecost +/- pul?
    2. If not, which weapon should I socket?

    good options:
up'ed shael'ed ribcracker (very cheap) You can get a non-uped one for not much ... use it to lvl to like 76+ ,,,,, then up it. (shael it before you use it)

IK maul shael shael w/ some IK pieces (belt, gloves, boots) will work decent

buriza shael'ed not a bad weapon that is overlooked a lot in .10

Those are 3 cheap option ... you MUST shael all of those since maul is a slow speed. I personally like ribcracker for pvm b/c of the mad cb you get on it.

Thanks for the replies, ribcracker seems to be a good option, dont have one yet though. I have a 197% buriza laying I can use.

    Question:
    1. After ribcracker(uped shealed), how would you rate other weapons as good for mauler? (no price limit this time)

You basically need a very fast weapon...a weapon with a fast base speed and lots of IAS on the weapon itself.

    Breath Of The Dying
    Doom
    Grief
    Oath

Basically any runeword that adds a decent amount of IAS 40+%...The same goes for uniques, you need a decent amount of IAS. Go check out the Wereform attack speed calculator in the stickies.

I personally would put ribcracker up there near the top. BotD's do more damage but rib gives a lot of extra mods like cb, fhr etc.

I would probably go w/ a BotD gt or gp since both can hit 7 frames on their own pretty easily.

I also loved 3 shael Tomb Reaver for my wb. Its been a while, but if I remember correctly, with highlords nos' coil and 20% ias gloves you hit 5 frames with big damage. Throw in the 60% res all and you've got to at least consider it.

sure...if you are a wolf barb. There are far better options for werebears, especially pvm....like darned near anything 2 handed. As far as pvm goes, I would use a shael bstar over a 4 shaeled grizwolds, even an ebotd zerker.

for pvm, its 8 or 9 fpa, which isn't too bad, in my opinion. I wouldn't go any slower, thats for sure.

I second this ... i never really went slower than 8, but i assume 9 wouldnt lead to instant death or boredom. Any slower than this and you will be very very bored w/ a maul bear.
