Random musings:

You know the feeling you get when you wanted to try something for ages and when you finally get around to it you find it wasn’t worth the wait? That is exactly how I feel about the Blender. The Phoenix Strike mechanic and I simply don’t mix. With Blade Shield and BoS going, I simply couldn’t make out how made charge-ups I had; and that when I was fighting one-on-one. In a crowd I couldn’t see them at all. In the end it was the combination of the Wake of Inferno and maximum block that saw me through to the end, without either I would have never completed this build. Nothing more to say really!

So that is the last of my parked characters completed and the last thing on my primary “to do” list ticked off. What’s left to do? Perhaps complete my 1.13 Grail and maybe even my 1.09 Grail. Perhaps complete my BoTD Sept. But as of now, almost everything I’ve really wanted to do with D2 is done.

Sorry to hear it was disappointing. This build is also on my dream list , but I don't play in 09, so it'll likely never happen.

I think it's more about timing than actually seeing the charges. You want to know how long it should take to build up the level of charges you want. That's why high AR is very important, as it brings consistency to that time frame.

Even with 9000+ AR on PS it could still talk 10 or more swings to get three charges up, and I've had the charges disappear before they were releases with a 7000+ AR DTail. It was the inconsistency that got be most. Lets say that I had one PS charge up and I wanted to use the lightning charge. You would get five or six misses in a row, then two quick hits and you had a useless cold charge that you had to get rid of. Then start the process again.

Wow, that's very bad. I wouldn't have expected that much trouble with 9k AR. They obviously made some improvements to charges in later patches, so maybe you would enjoy phoenix strike more there.

I hope so, I've still got my BoTD assassin to do. Or I could just go Tiger Strike all the way!

Congratulations on the Matriarch.

One of the 1.10 changes was the charges last longer. Try it in 1.13, it is a fun build.

I'm assuming that the longer lasting charges are for all the charge-up skills, if so, that'll really make a difference.

Nice job finishing! I love wake of fire personally, glad it helped you out.

I agree, I do not like the charge-ups. Too hard to be efficient.

I chose WoI primarily because I already have WoF as a pre-requisite for the higher blade spells, but the fact that I had never used it before also helped in the choice. I rarely found the limited range a problem. As a melee fighter I would either place the traps around the monster pack, or even around my character, before I started to attack. It really worked pretty well.
