    Gameplay

Freya’s general tactics consisted in slowing monsters with Glacial Spike and aggressively teleporting on top of them followed by melee. This was a very effective strategy for a number of reasons. Namely, full block% when teleporting, merc is always well positioned (in the front), and monsters get insta-Decrepified. FIs (eg, Frenzytaur Nightlords) required a caster approach: cast FO, teleport, rinse and repeat.

Freya was able to kill anything in the game. A vast array of damage types (from Enchant, FO, Static, Azrael, and his Venom) pretty much guaranteed immunities were not a problem. Some fights like the Ancients or Baal were ridiculously easy, literally taking no more than a few seconds. Other fights, however, were incredibly hard. Freya’s few deaths were to Convicted gloams in the Frozen River and WSK.

Overall, Freya was an enjoyable character.

    Next

Evil Amazon or fugly Necro. Guess which one

Nicely done! And that is quite a nice orb for your enchant!

    Nice!

I also have an enchantress that needs mat'ing. I respecced her away from FO (it was too tempting to use FO often), to ES/TK, but that doesn't work so well. I'll probably respec to Static or a higher level of Teleport.

Nice character! :D A very pretty LCS, if nothing else.

How'd 'Chains of Honor' treat you versus something like Skin of the Vipermagi? I realize you're melee, but the (more or less) lack of FCR was okay?

Very elegant character! I might add something like this to my planned 1.13 builds. I LOVE the Zeal damage on the LCS!

    Re: Matriarch Freya: Zeal Enchantress

    Thanks for the comments guys.

@ SnickerSnack: I can relate to your comment regarding FO liberal use. FO kinda takes away the melee feel of this girl at times. On the other hand, there are plenty FIs around in Hell. Having FO comes really handy. Enchant+ES is doable but not very practical. You'll be better off investing in a secondary type of damage. Not to mention Enchant prebuff gear alone takes half of the stash. Now imagine adding ES prebuff gear... If I wasn't to use FO, I'd go 1 point GS + maxed Static. IMO, Teleport is not a priority as maxed Warmth decreases the value of placing points in it.

@ Nagi: More FCR would naturally have been better, but it's very difficult to implement when going melee. CoH offers a lot more protection than Viper. Anyway, after playing several 11fpc melee/caster hybrid sorcs, I'm kinda used to teleporting and casting at 11fpc. No biggie.

Btw, I forgot to mention, and in case some of you are wandering. That's level 50 Enchant after prebuffing.

    Re: Matriarch Freya: Zeal Enchantress

    Well done!

It's a little depressing how slow Zeal is on a Sorceress. 7-frame 5-target attack is just... annoying, especially that all other classes are at least a bit quicker.

I tired making a similar character, but I was very frustrated by the need to build the gear around casting, Enchant-enhancement and melee at the same time. It was very hard for me to find balance there. I'm also not a big fan of prebuffing, which is pretty much a must for an Enchantress.

Have you made a Bearsorc? If so, how would you compare them?

    Grats!

    Re: Matriarch Freya: Zeal Enchantress

I went with Physical damage (reaper's on merc) to deal with PIs:

    Passion
    Feral Axe
    DolOrtEldLem
    Two Hand Damage: 73 - 360
    Durability: 30 of 30
    Required Level: 43
    Required Strength: 196
    Fingerprint: 0xc13ad8d1
    Item Level: 86
    Version: Expansion 1.10+
    +25% Increased Attack Speed
    193% Enhanced Damage
    65% Bonus to Attack Rating
    +75% Damage to Undead
+50 to Attack Rating against Undead
    Adds 1 - 50 Lightning Damage
    +1 to Zeal
    +1 to Berserk
    Hit Blinds Target +10
Hit Causes Monster to Flee 25%
    75% Extra Gold from Monsters
Level 3 Heart of Wolverine (12/12 Charges) 4 Sockets (4 used)
    Socketed: Dol Rune
    Socketed: Ort Rune
    Socketed: Eld Rune
    Socketed: Lem Rune

I also traded for this recently:

    Glorious Axe
    Two Hand Damage: 135 - 279
    Durability: 26 of 26
    Required Level: 66
    Required Strength: 154
    Required Dexterity: 45
    Fingerprint: 0x1fcf1a3b
    Item Level: 87
    Version: Expansion
    50% Enhanced Damage Ethereal
    4 Sockets (0 used)

So I may make an even heavier axe. Hopefully it's not too slow.

I really don't have much viable prebuff gear, reaching maybe lvl 35 enchant, so I have plenty of room in the stash for an ES stick. But, I think maxed static with a point in LM would be very nice.

I considered maxing teleport so I could still teleport when hit with mana burn. If I get surrounded, I need to tele out.

    Re: Matriarch Freya: Zeal Enchantress

Personally, I find 7 fpa quite decent considering the Sorceress is primarily a caster.

FCR-wise agreed. Fitting FCR in such a build is not easy.

Prebuffing seems a fair tradeoff. It takes stash space and time, but in return you get a lot of extra damage/AR and duration (end-game she had lvl 50 enchant which last ~22 minutes IIRC).

Sadly, no Bearsorc for me. I would love to play one, but I don't own Beast. My only Ber (actually 2*Sur) went to CoH instead.

    Thanks mate.

True. A townguard wielding Reapers will kill most FI. Freya's merc used it too.

Sweet axes you got there  Fpa-wise the 2h axes are excellent. I've been pondering making Kingslayer in a 2h axe for this reason, but at this point I'm still undecided because I think shield blocking would be missed.

Since you're planning 2h+ES, cheaper teleport definitely sounds a lot more attractive.
