Matriarch Elektra - Pure Lightning Sorceress In the need of a good countess runner and wanting to try a pure light sorc, I present you Elektra. I partially got the name from the movie Elekta but The name seems to suit a light Sorc nicely. I did not go it alone as I teamed with mir and his Wolfbarb wolfric all the way to Matriarch. Weapon: Reaper's Toll Helm: Vampire Gaze Armor: Duriel's Shell Game Progression Normal Me and mir both started out untwinked /p8 all the way. As for any sorceress especially pure light, mana was a constant problem throuhout normal so every so often I would stock up on blues and chug them as we went along. Starting out was a little slow and most of the problems came from A1 where me and mir encountered 3-4 straight LE/Curse boss packs one after another with mir biting the dust a few times(It happens sometimes ) and a NDE for me. Beginning of A2 we decided to twink which helped alot but mana was still a problem onward. The rest of normal went quite smoothly wihout much trouble besides mana issues. Ancients and Baal were a Joke. Did Baal runs til lvl43 in preparation for NM. Nightmare Entered NM around lvl43 /p8 all the way. NM was a breeze though mana was a problem occasionally though mir's maxed BO helped alot. mir's kill speed seemed to slow down a little in the early acts (lack of good mace uniques?) but it wasn't a problem as with Elektra having ~10k max lightning at the time everythg just melted away in seconds. Nothing interesting happend in NM just the usual easy ancients and Baal runs til lvl75 with mir equiping most of his end-game gear and me finally able to use my Eschuta. Hell From lvl75, me and mir hit the pits for some /p8 runs til he could equip wolfhowl and arachnid for me. Leveling in the pits at /p8 went pretty fast as Elektra had around ~15max lightning which was plenty to take down anything not lighning immune. Only problem we encounterd in the pits were those nasty cursed boss archer packs wich resulted a few deaths for mir and NDEs for me. We left the pits at lvl80 with both our end-game gear equipped, ripping through Hell at /p5. Lightning immunes were a problem for me but I let my merc and mir take care of them and vice versa with physical immunes i dealt with. Everything else melted away. The biggest problem we encountered was in the Frozen River with a lovely roll of Gloams,vipers, and Spearwoman. I was pretty much helpless with all the light immunes so mir tanked them all. The worst part was after entering the Frozen River, we were greeted with viper and gloam boss packs which resulted in mir's death and more NDEs for me. We took the ancients at /p5 on the first try with me and my merc dealing with 2 of them as mir took on the whirler. WSK Level 2 posed a small nuisance as Greater Mummies kept reviving gloams(a bad combo) from a distance. Baal and his minions were taken out at /p8 wih ease finally achieving Matriarch Status. Summary Though mana intensive, playing a pure lightning sorceress is very fun. I dont have the most godly setup but its still very respectable and it works just fine. Future plans for Elektra are countess running and pits. No good finds along the way and Baal dropped crap as usual. Something odd though i have never seen was in Chaos releasing the Infector Seal, only ~6 Balrogs spawned right NEXT to the seal. Thanks for reading & future comments!
