    Ok, I originally meant this as a reply to the increasing my efficiency-thread, but it kinda... grew out of proportions. Since I haven't made Mat/Pat thread yet, it seemed appropriate to start with this one, since this character has a bit more originality than some of my other toons. Not much, but a smidgen.     PART 1: The Obligatory Boring Character History Stuff

    Background

    She first saw the light of day sometime during the winter of 2014/2015. I have very few recollections of playing her, but I think she ran through the game as Meteorber, possibly using full Tal Rasha's Set. I also remember I didn't particularly enjoy Meteorb build, so sometime after killing Baal she was respeced to Blizzard, and she has stayed Blizzard sorc ever since.

    First she handled random oddjobs my main Blizzer was unable to do for map reasons. She rushed some chars, ran Meph for a while, stuff like that. Didn't get much playtime. At some point in 2015, she became my go-to LK-runner, mainly because she was available. I had ran a lot of LK during 2014 and was quite bored at it, so she didn't get many chances at the chests.

    Things Start To Get Serious

    Last year, around this time, I suddenly found myself in the middle of influx of runes. That can happen when you run CS Hammerdin and Travincal Sorceress simultaneously. While using up those runes, I noticed I was one Sur short of second Infinity. Time to hit LK! I woke up Dolores and proceeded to roll maps. It took me only three or four tries to get this map. I started running, and some 50 runs later that Sur dropped (judging by the timestamps on the screens, she found two Ums and Sur within one hour). I made my Infinity and forgot about Dolores for awhile.

    LK, meet RoF

    Going through screenshots, it seems I ran with her a bit after that, finding Gul, few Ums and some Puls. But it wasn't until August 2016 until I seriously started to play with her again. I had gotten interested in the RoF Superchest Thread, and decided to check my LK-runners map. This is what she had. With both LK and RoF maps almost perfect, I felt almost obligated to run both. Here is my report of my first runs.

    After that she was put on hiatus, until I put her to work around the New Year. I tweaked her gear and proceeded to run. After 1000 LK/RoF runs, these were the results. After that, I geared her for AT and leveled her to level 90. Now she is back in her usual Superchest gear, waiting for new tasks.

    Part 2: The Super Interesting Build and Gear Stuff

    LK-Runner Essentials


    There were few key points I was looking to meet when I was equipping my LK-runner:
    1. Be able to reach 200% FCR for 7 frame casting speed
    2. Be always available and ready to run
    3. without hogging useful/expensive stuff like CtA, Griffon's Eye or Arachnid Mesh
    4. Be, at it's core, a run-of-the-mill Blizzard sorceress, who could run AT/Pindle/whatever without need to respec
    5. Have an empty inventory, excluding couple rows of keys and an (optional) Identify Tome
    6. (optional) Have maxed resists
    7. (optional) Be able to equip Wizardspike without any hard points in Dexterity
    8. (optional) Be able to reach 86% FHR for 7 frame hit recovery
    Some elaboration on the points:

    200 FCR is a no-brainer. You want to be as fast as possible. Faster casting also means more survivability.

    Couple years back, I didn't have much time to play, so I did mostly just LK runs in small increments, 15 minutes here, an hour there. LK is great way to kill a little time, so I want it to be always readily available.

    That's also the reason I don't want to give her the best gear in the game. I have many characters, and my Arachnid Meshes and only Griffon's Eye are always in the use. Same goes, with maybe a lesser extent, with 35% FCR Spirit. Thus, my LK runner must have gear no one else wants.

    I also may want to level her up or do an MF run once in a while. and I want to be able to do that without hassle of using essences and whatever. So she is currently basic orb-using blizzard build with 144 hard points on Strength (so with Shako [2] and War Traveler [10] she will be able to equip Spirit Monarch) and rest in Vitality. I have however respecced he quite often, and in fact she is currently in her AT form, missing Shiver Armor.

    Empty inventory for easy pickup of the loot. It usually takes me about 10-15 runs until the inventory is full and I have to visit GoMule. I always check the loot in GoMule, delete bad loot, drop good loot in external stash, drop flawless gems and Tal runes to in-game stash for later cubing. I also use the Tome of Identify in-game to ID bigger stuff like Monarchs, gloves/boots, claws and grand charms if I'm in need of inventory space during the runs.

    Skills

    She needs a point in Telekinesis, a point in Teleport and she's good to go. Shiver Armor is nice to have, but not necessarily. I often use Frost Nova as crowd control, freezing enemies, swiping away leapers etc. Glacial Spike sometimes. Blizzard when absolutely necessary.

    Point in Warmth as usual of course, but with Insight, she has no mana problems.

    She doesn't kill. It doesn't help her meet her goals, and she's not particularly good at it. It's better to just keep her moving.

    So that makes 202% FCR, more than enough strength and dexterity to wear Shadow Dancer and Wizardspike, maxed resists and 102% FHR. On switch she currently has nothing, but I've been meaning to put another Wizzeh/Spirit combo there, in case I accidentally switch for some reason (has happened before).

    FHR?

    The 86% FHR breakpoint came as a bonus. I was looking for boots with dexterity, and had Shadow Dancers gathering dust with their awesome +18 dex. I noticed the 30% FHR bonus, with Spirit that makes 85%. Nice. So what's the next breakpoint? Of course it's 86%. Goddammit. Do I have Crafted belt with FHR and more than 7% FCR? I do! Woo-hoo! So 7 frame hit recovery it is. Not sure how much it matters though, the 200FCR is enough to keep moving no matter what. But more survival with next to no cost, how can I say no.

    One thing I have envisioned, is the rich man's 145%FHR build, that uses 1.07 Valkyrie's Wing (30FCR/30FHR/30FRW) as helm and Bladebuckle (30FHR/5str/10dex) as belt. I may have to test that at some point, for, you know, science.

    Conclusions

    I like this gear because it utilizes good stuff I have no other use for. I have tons of Vipermagis, Wizardspikes and good rares laying around. Caster belts were made ages ago when I didn't have enough Arachnids. Shadow Dancer is only high-end piece of equipment, but mines a low roll, and I've so far used it only once during playthrough. Could be easily replaced with something else though.

    There's still lots of space for improvement, of course. For instance, the diadem has +1 Amazon skills (lol), so good sorc diadem with fcr/str/dex/resists/life is an obvious improvement. Not that this build need +skills though. There are also three possible sockets that could be used for, say, stacking light res, another source of FHR (that would free other caster belt options). So far I have been too lazy to waste Larzuks, but possibly in the future, if I find good sorc circlet etc. More life would probably be the best improvement at the moment, so maybe Perfect rubies in head and Vipermagi. Wizzeh has Hel because that particular Wizzeh just happened to have Hel in it.

    Merc gear is optional, only thing she needs is Insight. I used Delirium for extra safety in RoF, but for LK, simple Tal's Helm/Shaftstop combo is enough. During thousand runs, Delirium crashed the game once in RoF. That's not too bad, but can lead to a loss of HR, so I'm not super comfortable with that.

    Her average times in LK, last time I checked, was around 21 seconds. With RoF, the times start to fluctuate, sometimes well under 40 seconds, sometimes well over 50 seconds, depending on the monster spawns. I want to make sure everyone understands this: Running both LK and RoF together is NOT more efficient than running just LK alone. If you haven't yet got those CtAs, HotOs and Enigmas, keep farming LK, and LK alone. That's the fastest method. RoF is the scenic route.

    I did thousand tours in LK with this equipment and had one situation that might be from some perspectives seen as "near-death-experience". I think it was more just an "experience". She's really safe, and fast. RoF is different beast though. There she died. It would take at least CtA to make it comfortable. Probably more levels too. %DR wouldn't hurt.

    Ending Thoughts

    Ok, so that was a lot of words. Guess I had to fill the void somehow, as I'm currently unable run for the RFL. Next Mat/Pat will have to be a simpler case.

    I would also love to hear about other players LK-runners, thoughts, et cetera. Everybody does it, so...

    TL;DR

    She like, runs those chests really fast like, with, like, lolgear, man

    This is so cool !!! 200 fcr and 86% fhr, with some tailor made gear and some well thought out pieces. Very well done, and thanks a lot for the detailed write-up. Definitely something I'll get back to if I ever decide to make such a character as well.

    Superb runner you have there considering the cost. I like the idea of always ready runner. This most certainly gives me a reason to level more than one of each class. Well not every class but few of the more usable ones ☺

    While it doesn't have dirty expensive gear, I wouldn't underestimate the cost either. Tailor made items mean you'll need quite some dedicated crafting and gathering of the crafting mats. But that might as well be the most rewarding part of this build, no?

    Thanks for feedback, guys!

    Hard to estimate the cost, really. Crafting a usable belt is pretty easy, since caster belts have FCR range of 5%-10% and FHR is fairly common affix on belts. The one I use is actually pretty crappy, could probably be easily improved if I wanted to waste Amethysts.

    Amulet can be tricky, but shouldn't be too hard for someone who plays somewhat regularly and remembers to pick up those Rals. You don't need +skills, so any crappy craft with FCR stack will do. Maybe someone knows the exact estimate on how many crafts you have to do to get +15% FCR?

    Since you need 60% FCR from Shield+Amulet+Belt, and the max you can get from those is 65%, you have basically 5% extra leeway you can use to make most of non-perfect gear.

    Also, I just realized I could hit (exactly) the 142% FHR breakpoint by sticking Shael in both the Vipermagi and headgear. D'oh! I somehow forgot Shael gives FHR in Body Armor as well :oops:.
