Introduction I'd like to introduce Demise to everyone. She won't be remembered for her awesome skills or items and her name mostly reflects the frequent demise of her trustworthy mercenary Jemali and her shadowmaster, but she was a fun experience and she defeated all the prime evils. This is in fact my first assassin in D2 and to spice the D2 experience I decided to run her untwinked, P1 settings, without rerunning areas, except Baal runs for exp. I did use TP's and in several cases I took Marius' words to heart, "What choice did I have, I ran". But I did come back to finish the fight. This was an experience that tested my patience and D2 skills, but more on that in the journey. Build Her primary focus was on lightning traps. In normal mostly lighting traps and some shadow, respec for nightmare with also fire traps and more shadow skills (mind blast ftw) and finally in hell I decided a respec with primary focus again on lightning traps maxed (because Hell mephi was kind enough to give some elemental firepower) with 1 point in all the shadow skills. I rushed a lot and I was mighty pleased that Diablo dropped Frostburn and The spire of lazarus which reduced my mana issues quite a bit. When I reached Baal I was confronted with the fact that I raised P settings too fast, because I was used to twinked characters... Nightmare was also not problematic, but my vitality became much more an issue as a 2-3 hits could kill me in A3-5. Hellforhe was kind enough to reward me with an um rune and at level 65 doin baalruns I was happy with Splendor/Spirit and lore equipped on Demise. Unfortunately, she did not receive mmuch better items, as the Gomule dump shows. I also discovered the beauty of mindblas to deal with big groups, what an awesome skill. Hell was a whole different ball game. Many enemies could insta- or 2-hit kill me, so avoiding being hit was a priority. Lightning immunes were problematic, because I had no elemental backup. I hoped my mercenary would come though, and he did, but slowly. Time spend on the different acts, I estimate is as follows: A1: 5 hours A2: 5-10 hours A3: 10+ hours (so many lightning immues, but lucky on the maps) A4: 5 hours A5: 10-15 hours Mephisto was kind enough to supply my with a Hellrack, which I dual socketed with a Pammy and combined with an earlier found demon limb enchant skill supplied suffiecient AR for 55-65% hit chance, in combination with venom and burst of speed of course. This helped, but was no game changer. Hell helforge was kind enough to supply me with a lem, so I was ready to create a Treachery armor (+2 skill, IAS etc. yeah!)...oh wait...where did I leave that Shael rune...I remember, I don't have one argg (when was the last time you did not have a shael rune??) The real challenge was with the ancients, they took tediously long. I prepared by buyying enough potions/quils. The first battle I almot immediately got insta killed. I did see 2 lightning immune ancients, so it would have been tough. Second battle I lasted 2 minutes before getting 2-hit killed after hit recovery. The third try Demise shined... Madawc was lightning immune, the other two were not. My merc servuvied the death of the Korlic, with help of several full rejuv's, but got killed immediately afterward. Dealing with two ancients was easier, so 5 minutes into the battle only Madawc stood. He took me approx 50 minutes to kill. I used all my Hellracks' immolation arrows, I even got him "bug" stuck next to my shadow master once but I accidentally moved and he got free. My final skill to get him was a level 5 fire blast, with synergies. I really can't tell how many of those things I trew at him, but it were a lot. Baal and minions were easy enough after that .
