Random musings:

This was undoubtedly one of the most powerful builds I've ever made! Even with 50 skill points in the bank, she was unbeatable. I ended up running Hell on /players1 basically because I am running out of enthusiasm for D2, but I could have run it much higher. Early in the peace, mana was a little bit of a problem. After equipping the Phoenix shield, the Redemption aura meant that mana and hit points were no longer an issue. Seeing that attack speed wasn’t not an issue, I went for Fade over BoS and had absolutely no regrets but it does shorten the shrine benefits. Taking Ceramic Weasel’s advice I upped the AR a bit and used Infinity on the merc to lower defence; no complains there either. The lowering of resistances probably helped with my ctc Firestorm and Poison Nova too. Speaking of the ctc Firestorm, it does break the flow of the BoF's throwing stars somewhat but I could live with it. Physical immunes were not a problem either. I took japanzaman's advice and put a Lawbringer on switch; too easy! I was thinking about using the spare skill points to either make a hybrid kicker (hence the upped Gore Riders) or in Death Sentry to help with packs, but I didn’t really need to.

To sum up, she was an absolutely killer build that I wish I had more time to experiment with. If only work didn’t get in the way.

Four down in my BoTD sept:

1. Heeeere’s Johnny, Frenzy Barb
2. Rev_Quick, Avenger
3. Lizzie, Enchantress
4. DameDeMort, Blade Fury Assassin
5. Axazon, Passives Amazon (unfinished)
6. Unrak, Werebear (unfinished)
7. Hugh_Encry, Slow-momancer (unfinished)

Congrats, I've always enjoyed blade fury so glad you found it fun.

Good luck with the rest of the Sept.

Are you playing without RWM or do you have a different reason for not using Death? It's probably not news for you that BF has a fixed speed and doesn't use up durability.

Without RWM, you might consider an ethereal Stormlash with a Jah rune... if you have it :)

J'aime le nom!

Grats on the mat, looks (and sounds) like she was a blast to play, so congrats on that as well. :)

She wouldn't be a part of my BoTD sept if I used Death.

I thought she needed a suitable name and just plain "lady of death" didn't cut the mustard. And she was a blast to play!!!1

Congrats! I can't believe you said it was the most powerful character you have played. Is that maybe a function of most recently doing too much 1.07/08/09 or was it really melting packs faster in act 5 hell?

Edit: I ask because I may do this, and since I just found a Vex right after I posted my question, I think I now have to make a blade fury assassin sooner than later.

It could partly because of other patches, but I think it was because nothing gave her any problem. The BoTD/Death Frenzybarb was probably more powerful, but not as much fun. I forgot to mention it in my first posts but CoS was the icing on the cake. It meant that almost no monsters actually attacked me AND it stopped the merc from getting swarmed. CoS also reduces enemy defence, as does Conviction, so the merc was able to stay alive and reliably able to kill things on his own. The combination of her stars and the mercs jabs meant that the vast majority of packs were dead before the 12 second limit on the CoS. For multiple pack I just cast CoS a second time. Using Lawbringer meant that the majority of PIs were broken and the train just kept rolling on without even slowing.

A word of warning though. CoS still causes random games crashes and I didn't test it against the Ancients.

Grats! Glad to hear that blade fury worked nicely for you, as I've been thinking to try one of these myself one day.
