I really wanted to see what kind of damage you can get with pure fire, and it's pretty cool. As far as weapons go, I started out with Salamander. Great staff early on. I switched to Hexfire + Lidless Wall after a while and had that for a long time. Very straightforward slaughter until NM act 4. Nightmare Chaos Sanctuary was hard with the fire immune knights. Thought my trusted normal act 3 cold merc could take them but it took too long. I tried helping since the hexfire has ignore target defense, but still too annoying. Solution: Kitting a new holy freeze Merc with Shaftstop, Rockstopper and 3 Amn Hone Sundan for good defense, leech, and CB. Not a fast killer, but reliable. We certainly owned nightmare Diablo Respecced when arriving at hell at 68 to Meteorb a la "Meteorb Guide (1.10)" from Sorceress forums. I maxed out Frozen orb, Fireball, and Meteor, put one in Cold Mastery, and the rest in Fire Mastery. I forgot teleport and warmth, so I had to do 2 levels of p8 pindle on NM and Hell Den of Evil to get it. Stupid! Skill progression from this point was getting Cold Mastery to 17 soft points and the rest into Fire Mastery. I ditched Hexfire + Lidless for Ondals Wisdom, which is a pretty cool item IMO. I also transferred some items from my Blizzer to this one, such as Tal's ammy, Skin of the Viper Magi and my only SoJ, I figured this one needed it more as a multi tree sorc. Together with a 10% FCR ring I found on Countess I reached 105% FCR breakpoint, never had that before. Sweet teleports. Did a bunch of Countess for runes, fun and levels. Two Ists within ten runs of eachother Bought Tal's armor from Kefka for a Mal (thanks man), which completed the set for me. Sadly I lost the 105 FCR breakpoint with Ondal's going out the door, and I'm not sure how to get it back. Oh well, I'll worry later Anyway I was now up to speed (around 280) on MF which felt nice for the first kill quest drops coming up. From this point it was smooth sailing again for act II and act III. Then again I was held up at Chaos Sanctuary, but this time it was more of a small slowdown. 5 out of 6 of the non-quest boss packs were CI/FI The Merc got to work for his living for a while. Act 5 went by fast, I never have the patience to clear those big areas. Ancients got annoying on me by spawning FI/CI twice on the leap guy. I tried both times to keep the merc alive but no luck. Third time, no double immune and no merc, they went down. Met a nasty pack of Frenzytaurs with Conviction, but I barely escaped. Had to skip those. Fighting Baal was slightly dramatic as he copied himself a bunch of times which extended the fight, but it was ok. Baal loot. Nice! Hel rune from NM HF. Fal rune from Hell HF. Next up is my Avenger paladin, he is in act 3 Hell right now and just got nice resists. Thanks for reading!
