Mana regen problems on hdin

Mana regen problems on hdin

i recently created a hammerdin, and he's now lvl 89, and hes having some serious mana regen issues. he has a pretty normal build, 20 to hammers, 20 to vigor, 20 to concentration, 20 to blessed aim, and 20 to holy shield ( roughly)

his stats are:
Str: 110, just enough for gear
dex: 50
vit around 350
energy: no points, as the guide i read told me to do.

his equipment is alright, still working on it,
hoto, shako, enigma, maras, hoz, trang gloves, 2 10% fast cast rings ( no sojs yet) a random belt, and some random boots :p

i put on point into redemption, the aura that turns dead bodies into mana and health points, and i cant stop using it, or else i will run out of mana, as my mana pool while using hammer on left click and concentration on right click, runs out very quickly, and cannot regenerate fast enough.

please help me!

using redemption to supply your paladin with life and mana is the standard procedure :) Kill a mob, switch to redemption, regen, kill a mob etc. Always carry at least one row of mana potions in your belt (i usually use two rows of mana).

Do you have a cta on switch? battle orders help with mana a little.

The simplest solution to this is to have an Act 2 merc with Insight. Even with 125% FCR, you'll essentially have infinite mana; it'll go down REALLY slowly if you keep spamming teleport, but stopping for a second will give you a crapload of mana back.

Obviously in PvP, your merc will get owned in a heartbeat. This is where you can chug down mana pots (note: chugging mana pots isn't considered "BM").

I second this. Just get an insight for an act2 merc.

Insight is a definate one, cheap to make and the med aura is godly for the mana regeneration. Actually notice you are using trang gloves, would magefist be a better bet, the 20fcr(same as trang's), but magefist has a 25% mana regeneration which helps too.

Hah, I forgot to mention Insight on a merc :girly: That's most likely because I used to run CS a lot with my hdin and mercs don't last long there so I tended to rely on myself only.

Insight is a very good suggestion :) As for mages - i'd rather use trangs for additional cold res but that might not be that much of an issue in PvM so it's also a good suggestion.

I also don't use a merc when I have my h'din anymore. I rely on redemption and just being fast. Merc's just die alot which can be problematic.

Due to you killing baddies so fast, the "mana after each kill" cannot be discounted either. My hammer pretty much never drank a pot and used only redemption to regenerate life on occasion. Aim for 7-10 to mana after each kill, and you should be fine in most situations/places.

#EDIT: And get rid of that HoZ really fast. A Spirit in a paladin shield with decent res will serve you much better - granting a buttload of mana/life/fcr/res/...

If you make your insight in a normal or exceptional polearm, your merc won't do enough damage to instagib himself. He also won't be much help killing things, but a well geared hammerdin doesn't need help. He also won't leech much if you use a normal pole, but an exceptional should let him leech enough to stay alive.

My sorc's merc still kills the countess or Meph's minions (they're sometimes fire/cold immune) in a few hits, so an Insight Partizan works okay.
