you can say you have all this time online but you must also ignore everyone. you dont have to act like anything for people to make assumptions. also i never said i got all thier stuff, mostly it would be thier left overs which since i was never able to power game they helped me alot. if you believe i walked around acting like a girl for free stuff then so be it, you are wrong but to each thier own. also i never pestered anyone, ever. i just play and let people think whatever they want. lastly i am not a kid

I dont see the point of different treatment or anything. Anyway not that it would concern me anyway since in SP i have to deal only with my own self.

Quoted for truth. Don't let these high-minded, serious, mature players convince you otherwise Apocalypse. Sein Schatten is too busy contemplating Kant and Hegel to notice that battle.net is filled with mindless trolls, 13 year old smartasses, gibbering Korean scammers and every other kind of low-brow garbage. It's the Mos Eisley of the internet: 'you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.' :D OF COURSE these desperate teenagers are going to treat you differently if they think you're female. I've seen it a thousand times. It's not even worth debating.

It's easy to pretend all that doesn't exist when you spend all your time here, a heavily moderated bubble compared to the regular chaos and anarchy that reigns over at the battle.net forums, a fairly representative panorama of the kind of players that populate the online universe.

In fact, just last week a thread started by a young English girl devolved into a 6-page debate over whether she was actually female or not, whether she mentioned her sex just to get attention, and whether the attention her post did receive was a result of its merit or because the male posters wanted to hit on her.

If you look at the lore, there's no such thing as a male Rogue (SISTERS of the Sightless Eye) or Amazon, so I think we can be fairly certain that the inclusion of gender options for all classes means neither of these will be a playable class in D3. I'm guessing they'll include a new archer class that can be either gender.

I'm in favor of the gender option. Some people prefer to play as one gender or the other and this opens up the possibility to create a character of any class and whichever gender they want.

    Re: Male/female character customization

Yeah sure, but diablo 3 should be rated M(mature) and only sold to people with 17+ years.
This would not remove some possible harassment/annoyance, but it will reduce it.

I feel that most of the people doing stupid **** like that are kids and/or guys who spend tooo much hours playing the game in a day/week!

Yeah its probably fun to annoy some female once for a short period of time, but its really stupid and actually boring to keep on doing it many times, at least for me.
Some may disagree with me and I have no problem with that as long as you write with some merit.

I'm really scared about what kind of people will play D3. Now that I think of it, I start to like the D2 bnet community more and more.

If I pick a female class it's just because it's nicer to watch some hot chick kicking *** all day than some dude. That's why Tomb Raider was so big.

There's a simple solution: think of everyone on BNET as neutral

They could always add some pseudo-extra character that uses identical skills and equipment but uses an alternate model with a separate back story. But that could cheapen both characters.

Sorry, MooCQ, but I think that's just too difficult for some people.

People are going to play whatever charactor is better in the game. Sex appeal doesn't last when your character sucks.

    Re: Male/female character customization

Stafir i doubt men would help female characters more than they would male characters. It doesn´t make sense at all, since the characters are animations and the girl character is most likely controlled by a guy. In real life it´s however more different, as women are much weaker than men and would require help with i.e. heavy lifting/work or protection from harm et cetera.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS of the Sightless Eye... that would be horror.
I'm glad Blizzard said no other classes from D2 will return. :scared:

Same here. Even in case of a female character and lots of smilies, I refer to other players as male until proven female. Usually they don't object, I wonder why :scratchhead:.
