Making Runewords

I was reading the D2 section here about the Runewords and since I have yet to try making one, for lack of good Runes atm :) , I was wondering if I know how to make them.

From what I have read it is important to get the order of placing runes right. So when a Runeword consists of Amn + Ral + Thul , you should put in Amn first, then Ral and finaly Thul. Is that correct?

Furthermore can you make a Runeword in your Inventory or do you have to make it in your Cube?

These questions may seem noobish but I couldn't get an answer from what I read so hence my questions here to you guys.

Txs in advance for answering.

Also since you are new and we all have made some mistakes here are a few things to remember...

1) Only NON-magical socketed items can be runeworded. They will be grey in appearance when on the ground.

2) You can NOT make a rune word out of Magical, Rare, Set, or Unique Items.

So No Wealth Griz Armor.

3) Runes must be placed in the order specified in the recipe.

And be careful when moving runes, Gems, and Jewels around your inventory as it is soooo much fun to accidentally drop your new UM into your socketed Tals Orb! Doh!

Yeah I know what you mean by moving around stuff in your inventory. I accidently put a chipped topaz in a WWS that way :)

Txs for the info and I guess I am ready to get a simple Runeword going for my (Normal Difficulty) Paladin.

Just remember that the item used and the runes used have certain levels that may be too high for a normal character (the runeword you want to use should be fine for the under level-33 character). Don't try to use a Cham on a level 30 character (I think Cham is about a level 67...it might be level 65) because you can't receive it's benefits until you reach that level (and you can't equip the item until you are at that level).
