Making a Axe grief - some advice

Hi, ive been wanting to create a grief weapon (in a axe), however I have only found an "Twin Axe" 5skt weapon. Should i keep searching for a 5skt "Ettin axe"? or shall i just create in the twin axe i have?

    many thanks

Try and hold out and find a Berserker Axe or War Spike if you want to make a grief. BA is obviously better due to the greater range than other 1 handed axes, but you'll need a decent IAS roll (35%+ i think) for it get the fastest WW speed.

Ettin axes are just too slow for Grief IMO

Make in in a phase blade, except for a WW barb or if you need the range for other reasons (e.g.PvP). In that case use a BA. The problem is that Larzuk will add 6 sockets to both, so you need a little luck to find or cube one, in particular a BA.

BTW, you need 34+% IAS on a Grief BA, else it will miss the final WW breakpoint which will have a significant effect on its value.

thanks for the advice, ill keep a look out for either Berserker Axe or War Spike. I would do a phase blade like krischan said, however I maxed the axe mastery.

I do have a beast axe. So how does grief work with that? ie.
Does grief boost up beast by the +damage? or
The aurua on Beast boosts up grief?

    many thanks

Grief won't boost up the Beast weapon, its +dmg, IAS etc. applies only to the weapon itself. The aura from Beast boosts up Grief attacks as well, however.

Racks (things called weapon racks or armor racks) from 1.07 (a patch).

You might also want to give Hell Pits a try (located in Act 1 Tamoe Highlands). The monsters can drop everything the WSK can, but are much easier to kill.

Zerker fo efficiency (although there is a huge IAS gamble on this one. 30-34 Grief Zerkers are quite hard to sell.), War Spike for style points.

For me, style points always win. Dammit. =)

i've rolled a number of zerkers this season before i stopped and none of them turned to 5os :*(. i always end up buying premade griefs instead. (not only cuz the base weapon but also cuz i can't seem to put the runes in the right order :p)

About the cost of the runes + the cost of the item it's in. A little more for a good roll, a lot more for a perfect roll. The same for any runeword, really.
