Make the best setup

From the equipment listed below, make a good Zealot setup. I currently have all of it in my possession but I would like the advice of some experts. Many people are telling me differently. Oh, and I this setup is for PvP, so do not concern yourselves about PvM statistics I need to acquire. If you would like further information on any item please post so. And I still can't get an Eth Dc!!! It's extremely irritating but I will get one! As for now, use the weapons listed below.

Helms:
Crown Of Ages (2 sockets)
.08 Vampire Gaze Helm with 8/8 leech ( 1 socket)

Amulets:
Seraphs Hymn
Highlord's Wrath
Angelics

Weapons:
Eth Zod'd 219% Ed Razors Edge
Eth Botd Zerker 385% Ed

Sheilds:
Eth 728 Defense Zod'd Alma Negra w/ 67/71 %Damage/Attack Rating
Stormsheild (1 socket)
205% Ed Alma Negra (1 socket)

Plate:
2115 303% Ed Archon Stone Plate
2175 194% Ed Eth Zod'd Gladiators Bane

Belt:
Verdungo's

Rings:
Angelics
RavenFrosts
Bk's

Gloves:
Dracul's Grasp
Bloodfists

Boots:
GoreRiders

Charms:
Combat
Offensive
32020's
290's

P.S.- Yes, I realize i've asked this question many times. But I whenever it's answered, something new is considered and what not so bear with me.

CoA - socket with chipped diamond just for the heck of it, still kicks arse
Highlord's - For the deadly o_O
BoTD zerker - Max Zeal BP yet with the highlord?
Stormshield - socket with something silly (for the resist and looks, alma is silly)
The Stone armor - Pure molten boulder ownage, baby!
Verdungo - (jeez, u gave us a lot to choose from in the belts section ;) )
RavenFrost/BK
Dracul's - Bloodfist would be good for the "lol bloodfist -- WTF HAXOR" effect though...
GoreRider - Again you really didn't give me much choice :)

Charms:
None of that dupepoo. But skillers are quite useless for a fanaticism zealot, look at the char screen and put one on and off if you don't believe me (though some 32020's on the background might make a difference..)

Oh yea, I was supposed to say, In case a BOTD zerker hits the max BP with a highlord I'd get concentration instead of Fanaticism just for the 20% chance of uninterruptable. (And ppl would mistake you for a hammeradin too, u could cast some fake hammers :p )

What disturbs me are people that 'play' D2 and have all the elite items, yet still cannot make up their own minds what is good and what is bad.

No criticisms here, just an observation.

To me this thread isn't about what is a good equipment setup for a Zealot...it's about "hey look at all my itamz!"

Lol, of course not, I'm still considered very much a noob. Ya see my friends gave me all the stuf that i've posted. I began playing 3 months ago. They told me how to rush and the basics. So I am not really smart on what gear choiecs to make and what not.

I meant no offence, so I am glad you've taken none.

Anyway, 3 months should still be enough time to get the general hang of things...

As a Zealot IMO you should have speed and damage. As well as being able to survive.

I would trade one of your BoTD's for an Exile shield, should be relative easy to do - and is way better than Alma Negra. Oh, and I'd take a HoZ anyday over the AN. You should also ensure that the shield comes with base resists (my own Zakarum Shield has +45 all resists). What makes the Exile shield stand out is the Life Tap, Defiance aura and Freeze Target IMO.

To be completely honest with you I really think BoTD is overrated. I would take a Stormlash/Schaeffer's/Crescent Moon over it any day - the reason? CTC Static Field.

From here you can decide whether you want to go Deadly Strike or Crushing Blow, or a mix of both...

As an idea, my own Zealot has the following setup:

Crown of Ages (Um/Um), Stormlash, Guardian Angel (Um), Highlord's Wrath, Exile, LoH, Thundergod's, Gore Rider, Ravenfrost x 2

The setup I posted before will work well enough for you to fine tune it later. It's really hard to say what will work and what won't if you don't try it.

Helm: BerBer Coa
Plate: Eth Zod'd Glad Bane
Weapon: Eth Zod'd Razor's Edge
Sheild: Eth Alma
Belt: Verdungos
Gloves: Magnus' Skin
Boots: GoreRiders
Amulet: Angelics
Ring 1 and 2: Dual Angels

And maybe equip isn't your only problem, a good charm stock adds massively to damage ar and life. Use 3/20/20 over combats offensive and 290, but a good mix of AR/life charms and the godlier gcs (10max/80ar/35+life) help a heck of a lot too (rather than 40 32020).

Eth DC is very very good, but really, to get a good paladin that can hold his own, do you NEED it? Absolutely not. Like the ebotd zerk before it many people think that once you get an Eth DC you will own all duels, lol.

With that little damage reduce, that build is doomed in pvp ... unless you meant pvm :/

Of course, I do not play PvP overly much. Although I am slowly getting into it.

My Pally does pwn Tesladins however

For PvP I'd simply take off Exile (not allowed to use it as far as I know), put on a Stormshield and I think all my DR desires would be filled...not sure though...

Although, most duels take in place in NM correct? So this would mean theat PDR would be capped at 75%?

Milamber the PvP newbie! I have no idea.

Anyway the point is, my Zealot kicks arse in PvM.

Ok, anyone else have any suggestions. O. and Grem, would Magnus be better than Draculs?
You people cheat, Magnus was not on the list :p
But no way it would be better, if you're getting Fanaticism and a superduper fast weapon anyway...

Draculs doesn't give ias. So unless you want to zeal with 5fps, you need a 20ias boost with that setup, which is easiest to get on gloves or highlords (which can't be worn because you need more AR). Dracul's OW is much better if you didn't need the ias, but unfortunately you do right now. Magnus also gives a healthy 100AR, which is very nice too.

There might be better setups with what you have, but I'm not sure what stuff you want to be key points in your build. I'm assuming you wanted razors the alma and the glad bane as key points, as you stated last time ... if you change your mind there are a LOT of potential setups with your equip. Which is better, hard to say unless you try it out, I don't think there will be a giant difference though.

EDIT: Btw, Stoutwood's zealot guide is stickied in the Paladin guides thread. It's very good, easy to read and pretty accurate.

Yes, I've read the guides. Stout says to use SS, which is the only reason I bought one. And I'm trying to be a raw damage/deadly strike zealot. Oh, and what other setups are there? I'll try them all out. I don't care abot key points as long as I get what's needed in PvP. oh, and if anyone has any tips for my stats:

100 str
120 dex
305 vit
15 ener

Ok, I've developed a few builds myself.

Variables (What changes):

#1

Helm: 40/15, 40/15 Crown of Ages
Sheild: 40/15 StormSheild
Amulet: Highlord's Wrath
Rings: RavenFrosts

This setup has (What the variables add):

+45-50% Damage Reduction
+30% Faster Hit Recovery
+120% Enhanced Damage
+65 Increased Attack Speed
Cannot Be Frozen
+30 Strength

+30-90 Cold Damage
+30-40 Dexterity
+80 Mana
+40% Cold Absorb
+25% Increased Chance Of Blocking
+35% Faster Block Rate

#2

Helm: Ber, Ber Crown Of Ages

I think I got all the Mods right. So what's betta? Btw, this is just my input. I still want more advice and setups. NOTE: All the mods listed are from the variable items, not the controls, the contol mods were not added!

I never said to use a Stormshield, I said that it allowed the most flexibility. Nonetheless, if you have an Eth Alma, build around that. I would take the Eth Razor over the BoTD, dual Ber the CoA, and wear Angelics and Magnus Skins. But then again this isn't my pally. Make it to suit your own playing style.
