    Magic Find Iron Golem

I was just thinking, and sombody's prolly thought of it before me, but I couldnt find anything about it.... You slap 4 perfect topaz in an armor, turn it into an Iron Golem, and HEY! You have magic finding support!

Q: Can you actually do this? Would you be able to increase your MF this way?

    Thanks

If it's anything like MF on mercs, it would only work if the golem made the kills.

I personally don't want to wait all day for my golem to chip away at an enemy.

Yes. IG gains MF from the items he was created from.

But like Eilo said, if it works like a mercenary does, then the golem would have to make the killing blow in order for his Magic Find to come into play so if you are patient and have some Prevent Monster Heal then it might be worthwhile.

P.S. If you do make an Iron Golem out of that, use a 6 socket weapon with ists for the uber rich. Are there pally shields with more than 4 sockets?

Isn't it fairly pointless? You can get a lot more on your merc than on a golem. So why not just get a 6 ist polearm an isted skullders and like a shako on an Act II merc and have way more mf on him. Plus he should be able to actually kill stuff.

    Hm....

    Quote from Arreat Summit
"Save powerful Rare and Magical Items you don't wish to sell, use or trade to create Iron Golems. Some magical item properties are not transferred to the Iron Golem, such as "Chance to find Magical Items" and "Mana Steal". "

Well, this blows.... My golems don't kill much anyway tho.

    Good luck and Good Hunting!

AS isn't exactly the most accurate.
