Yes, and those things should never, ever include graphical interfaces of any kind!
DOSshell... all you need...
you and your fancy DOS, pshh
Aren't you arguing in another thread that computers are many hundreds of times faster than we need? So what does it matter that I'm using some of that excess power to run a fancy animation.
Besides, if a user application needs the resources then it is given those resources. Most operating systems made past oh say 1998 have had this feature.
Besides by your standards we just need a text prompt.
It just seems silly to me.
. . . says the man with a cylon pumpkin avatar. Why the graphics, dude?
linux does this too, with beryl installed.
9.8k... I think I can spare it.
This one is the one i liked the most
click on Here, then put in w/e for a name. go up to the top, and click on downloads. there it says flyakite somethingsomething.
it automatically makes a system restore point, but you can make one too just incase.
it will install the transparency thing for the start menu, and for any other window thats in the background; you can set the level of transparency and exclude somethings from it (like you can make it so the start menu is never transparent)
you can roll up windows, i dont really get the point since you can minimize it, but the choice is there.
it will install the dock at the bottom, (whihc is what i think you wanted) and you can move it anywhere on the screen (left, right, top , bottom) and set its transparency and size.
it changes all your system icons to mac icons. places like the control panel are wehre youll really see a difference. thefolder icons are almost the same, it changes your desktop (ofc you can change it to w/e you want if you dont like it)
um,..i think that's about it, oh and the boot screen instead of saying welcome like xp just as the little apple sign with some weird thing going round and round.
my comp is pretty good but it did take a bit longer to boot up if you have the theme always running, but if you always leave your pc on or restart only like once a week then its worth.
thats about it...
