Lvl 30 LLD Shockwave-Zookeeper... viable?

i got to thinking that i wanted to make another lvl 30 dueler. I was gonna chose fire claw druid, but then i got curious, as i am by nature, and started pumping dire wolves to see damage. After tinkering around, this is what i got

Skills
Dire wolves-13(21 after items)
HoW-13(21)
Shockwave-7(15, if i opt for more cast rate, subtract 2 from skills)
Bear-1(9)
ravens1(9)

Gear
Helm-peasant(unless i get a lore with +3 wolves)
Armor-viper magi
Weapon-Spirit(unless i opt for sprectral shard)
shield-sigons(for pre buffing) then switch to whitstans
Gloves-Magefists
Belt-Nightsmoke/string
Boots-Nats
Rings-SOJs/fcr rings
Ammy-Telling of beads/Eye of etlich

Wolves were doing some 160 dmg per wolf, with 160% HoW, factor in PvP penalty... thats about 70 dmg per wolf, 3 wolves per attack = 212 dmg per wolf attacks.

Add on the fact that shockwave + ravens + wolf attacks make an opponent with non-godly FHR immobilized = pretty good ownage.

Now i know this build will suck agains good casters... but there are other builds to take care of them ;)

So what do u think...

Wouldnt work vs the chars that are worth defeating I think. Might be fun to kill some unprepared people, which it will be excellent for, but most LLD can get 86 if needed.

PS: Some chars can go to lvl 30. I'm not to sure about this one ;)

there is no lvl 30 pvp ^^

just lvl9,18,29,49 :p

pvp penalty is 17% - or 1/6
I know the PvP penalty is 17%... wolves base dmg is 160 and HoW adds 160% of that... then i multiplied by .17 and got 70 dmg

It will be a fun challenge to duel those who are prepared, would require more skill ;)

PvP penalty for minions attacking players is actually 1/4. So you'll be doing more than you predicted. However, I think this would have problems beating zealots or other uninterruptible characters. A zealot can just zeal away and actually leech all his life back from the wolves (I've done this before) since llding usually takes place in normal.

There really are no set levels for lld/mld unless you duel in a league. I believe lld101 has a level cap of 30 on some of their chars.

I even have a lv41 mld necro. Why lv41? My white wand was a polished wand (lv41), and I don't want to buy skillers. People usually think I'm just some nub who feels like dueling with a future hlder, but they figure out the truth soon enough.

Aha, but most LLD wont use life steal b/c it is innefective in duels, thus gives me the element of suprise...

I had a lvl 59 grief-greif frenzier and he owned higher lvls quite a bit.

Well most lld zealots around your level will most likely be using honor knouts or divine scepters, which comes with 10% life leech I think.

If you're on Europe I'd love to test your build a bit. I always enjoy seeing people try to find new working builds for lvl 29, instead of the standard zealot/bowzon. Who knows, it might work and you could become famous for introducing a new build to lld :p

PS: Ive seen maulbears, shockbears, fire druids, all sorts of wolves, low lvl windy type druids, but never a summon druid ^_^

Well, im on USEast, Grrr... But i am in the making of making this guy and i figured i could make a lore helm out of a +3 dire wolf druid helm. This would add even more dmg/life to them. If i could get a godly +3 wolf/+3 grizzly... ok im starting to drool here.

I guess i will opt for the 95% fcr breakpoint, which would make for faster stunlock.

If anyone on USEast would like to donate some Wolf prebuffing gear(2 os helm with +dire wolves, rare ammy w/+2 summons anything else with +dire wolves) that would be great.

I will give an update on how he is doing once i get him going,,, tnks :)

My summon/shockwave druid is lvl 26, and i gotta say that he is wikked awesome...

I opted to go for 5 spirit wolves, they do more dmg but have less life than dire wolves(but chars usually dont attack them while stunned). Wolves+ravens+Shockwave just tear up people. I owned a lvl 61 barb... 61. My strategy is simple, shockwave em so they cant move. If they can move somewhat, then i run back and keep shocking til the duel is over. Not many people have that much fhr. I just cant wait til i actually hit lvl 30 and get a rush thru nm and hell ;)

Will give an update on the fully equipped build later ;)

I see a fairly easy way to counter this build, unfortunately, and it's lld101 legal.

7x Sols in your gear. Anyone that expects to duel a lot of smiters and/or kickers, especially bm ones, will pack a 3 or 4 sol shield(4 if pally), 3sol helm, and usually a twitch or spirit shroud with a Sol in it. If they want even MORE -dr, and some DR%, they can add in a string. The pain about Sols is that -dr is taken off AFTER the pvp penalty, so in reality, instead of taking off 7 damage apiece, they're taking 42 off the LISTED damage.(assuming pvp penalty for physical is 1/6)

7 sols, the max allowed by lld101, is stripping 294 physical off per attack, if my math is correct. Against smiters and kickers, this is deadly. Against zookeeper druids, and I think zookeeper necs, this will make a character almost immune to these builds.

If you are on west ladder, whisper me sometime on *IK_Inexorable if/when I'm on, otherwise reach me on aim or pm via these forums, I'll help you test out and see how bad Sols may hurt the build. But, I will say this, VERY FEW people will do gear switching in pubbies, that usually happens in serious duels.

Oh.. almost forgot the replenish a melee can pack. +10 from Honor, +12 from a pair of angelics... it could be bad. (8 from a pcrown if they want that route)

Just some input. I hope Jerkazoid sees this and corrects any faulty math I may have.

Yes, sols may hurt me... but i havent come across a sol user yet... I also have about 15% dmg reduced, dmg reduced 22, and about 12 magic dmg reduced, so small damagers wont hurt me none.

My druid is now pretty much complete(just need to get more life or mana charms). He has defeted a few lvl 70+'s and does great vs almost every melee i encounter. The only problem he has are with mid-high casters(especially cold dmg ones, they slow my wolves) Lower casters non-cold i can take out(i took out a lvl 71 foh pally... but he kinda wore crap).

This guy is really great. I have gotten alot of complements about my setup. His life is around 830 w/HoW... w/oak its around 980. This guy is not to be taken lightly. Many people were shocked(get it... shockwave) when i beat them, some just laughed.

I am on US East-Ladder. If anyone would like to test their dueler against mine, just give me a whisper... i want to face some challenges. I have not lost to a lvl lower than 30 yet, only lost to one lvl 30, a war cry barb... stunned my wolves and therefore couldnt dmg him except shockwave(shockwave has better range). I generally lose to ele druids... but they have been lvl 45+... i would like to duel a lvl 30 ele druid ;) ... or if u really think ur melee char can take me, go ahead and try :)
