Low Poison Nova Dmg HELP

OK i have a lvl 59 poisonmancer. Skills : 2 amp dmg 1 in prereq exept confuse tree, so far 2 in lower resist plan to get up to 7. Nothing in summons, 8 in pd 19 in pe 20 in pn
4 in bw 2 in ba 1 in bp.
The problem is my rather low poison nova dmg my poison dagger is doing around 800 pe is doing 5k but my nova is only at 1.4k have i done something wrong?? also how should i continue with this build? Points in bone wall and bone arrmor for better defense in hell or should i get revives and skeleton mastery and
confuse?? I had confuse on a bone wand tried it out and liked it pretty much but my main curse is lr. Thanks in advance for any input.

Options could include beefin up other curses that you like, getting a point or so in Corpse Explosion, or perhaps 1 in Clay Golem/Golem Mastery/Summon Resist, for a decent wee slowin/tankin Golem that you can throw around the place.

What gear you wearin?

Welcome Newcomer to The Darkness. Grab a brew :drink: and feel free to raise some corpses.

Finish pumping the synergies to Nova and the damage should look better. Then just add some items like Three Part Trang and a bit of LR and you will doing good. If you can afford it Bramble and Death's Web are excellent.

If you want meatshields you are better of putting a point in Revive. You won't have enough points left to get adequate Skellies. Revives just need 1 point be competent meatshields. Let +skills pump their numbers.

Some BW and/or BA might be a good idea. Pumping your favorite AI curse should also help keep you safe.

The low poison nova damage is not that bad. Now follow me. I think youre PE damage is what? over 15 or so secs? The poison nova damage is ALWAYS over 2 secs, which allows you to do more potential damage over the long run. You will also find items like trangs gloves and poison facets a really big help in the upping of poison damage. If you wear trangs gloves, belt and wing i do belive you get 25% more poison damage and -25% enemy poison resist, which really helps.
Remember there are totally immune to poison creatures in hell, even with lower res cast on them. I usually play with 20 skelly and 20 mastery along with poison tree damage.

Yes the three trangs definately help. Facets as well. If you like confuse go with it and add some CE (5-10 points w/o + gear is plenty).

Nice thing about LR is you can cast it, then nova, then confuse- confuse will overwrite the LR but your posion rates have been set for the durration of your posion so in a way it's stacking the curses. My daggermancer does this with LR and then the blind from his umbial disk takes over, nice big posion damage lots of safty.

Also once Nova gets to level 12 you gain more damage by investing in synergies rather than putting the points directly into Nova.

I hope your using a holy freeze merc. Slow gear and clay golem is always a big plus on poisoners of all types.

Thanks for all the quick replies. As for gear I'm wearing pretty crappy stuff mostly rares,
I'm running nightmare diablo for equipment at the moment. I can do him alot faster than meph because meph is more poison resistant and harder to dodge. Diablo is laughable if your main attack is ranged :) btw can he drop trangs set? I find that he does drop kewl stuff recently he felt generous and gave me a exeptional unique polearm 100-200dmg 55% deadly strike for my holy freeze merc
and immortal kings head gear with 2 sockets this is with only 200% mf.
1 more thing how does clay golem slow things down? Does he affect everything on screen, what he hits or what hits him? I am at level 60 now so my general skills are already set. I cant go start maxing the summon tree, I need the so called 1 point wonders as support spells. Also if I invest in the golems/ gm will they be able to survive I have about 30-35 max skills left to spend and i need 12 to max dagger and 5 more for lr

Erm, clay golem slows anything that he attempts to hit. If im not mistaken, jst the animation triggers the slowing.

The hit animation triggers slow in a 1 yard radius. Clay does not need to connect, all he needs to do is perform the animation. If a monster hits Clay the animation is also triggered.

Sounds good but can he survive reasonably well in hell qith only minimal point investment? I dont want to have to recast him every 30 seconds. My expierience from 1.09 tells me that the only good pets are revieves.

That is no longer the case. Skellies perform very well as meatshields and damage dealers. Clay has the most HP's, at higher levels, of any minion.

If you have no +skills you should get Clay up to level 5 and GM also up to level 5. For me this is when he starts to be worth it. You can probably reach these levels easily with +skills, so 1 point should suffice.

Ok i think I'll put some points into it. I tried out revives via a +3 to revies wand they are good meatshields, but without thorns aura they aren't worth the prereq points. I.ll probably put some points into clay golem SR and GM. Also who should I run in Nightmare for trangs set? I.ve been doing diablo runs so far, but they take 15 minutes a piece and lately diablo has been giving me crap. This is with 250mf. Also my merc tends to die alot because of that damn iron maiden curse. would multiple Pindel Shenk and that super unique juts above shenk and the waypoint do the trick with about 300mf? I would get a rare mf belt and shoes for these runs. 1 more thing for decent charms + to stats RA +skills nightmare cows or flayer jungle?? I am not going to hell without decent equipment :) thanks again for the replies.

Only some pieces of the Trang's set can drop in NM. The best boss seems to be Baal. For more information on drop chances, you can check out the drop calculator in ATMA.

When you enter the Chaos Sanctuary, take away the weapon of your Merc. He will still be able to do damage, but he won't be able to kill himself.
