low lvl smiter ( I need some help)

Hi all, I'm planning to make a low lvl (30) smiter, and I need some advice/sugestions
I'm not looking for a killing machine, just a fun build to play, I'm not rich so the uber equipment is far from my reach.
ok, first no rush, so 33 skill points to work
    20 smite
    7 holy shield
    3 pre-req
3 left ( possibly defiance aws synergy)
I plan to get fanat from a war scepter so no need to sink poits in off auras.
barbed shields would be my best bet, right? I'm yet to find a good one, but I'm thinking in a "rhyme" for the cbf, so I can change the belt for something more useful
as for equip, I think I'll be using:
    peasant crown (Pruby)
    skin of the vipermagi (Pruby)
    deaths hand-belt
    some boots
+2 combat skills ammy with life and resists (I have it)
2x manald ( life, life replenish, mana regen) no soj here
as many shaels in the scepter as necesary to reach a 6 fps smite
every charm w/life, fhr, frw I have
well, any, and every kind of help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Pucho

This seems like a good LLD choice For boots:

    Tearhaunch (unique Greaves)
    Defense: 60-63
    Required Level: 29
    Required Strength: 70
    Durability: 24
    Assassin Kick Damage: 10-20
    +60-80% Enhanced Defense
    20% Faster Run/Walk (nice)
    All Resistances +10% (nice)
    +35 Defense
    +5 To Dexterity (nice)
    +5 To Strength (nice)
+2 To Vigor (for a tactical retreat)

If you plan to use the "Death's Disguise" belt, you might as well use the gloves too. The combined bonuses from these two items are very decent:

    Poison Length Reduced by 75%
    Poison Resist 50%
    30% Increased Attack Speed
    Cannot be Frozen
    +20 Defense
    All Resistances +15

For a shield a Barbed seems to have the highest damage for your level. Maybe you'd get lucky and find a rare one with resists and Monk's prefix (+1 Paladin skills). Unfortunately Howk-branded prefix (+2 combat) for shields is not available at your clvl. Otherwise either a Ancient's Pledge or Rhyme Brabed seems to be the best choices.

I didnt think of that Tearhaunch greaves!
I think they are better that the chain boots for the stats and vigor
and maybe drognan is kind enough to sell me a priest barbed shield (of blocking maybe?) and then socket it with diamonds (or a couple of elds for the blocking)
another one how is smite damage calculated? str bonus is 1% right? then %ed from smite & % ed from aura + (shield damage + bonus from holy shield)
    thanks for the quick answer

hey there, I think I played with u last night (Argentena, HYO right)
I was the cleric. Anyway, for weapons, I recommend either Culwins Pont (Unique) or Blood Crescent (Unique).

Culwins has +1 skills, and BC has 33% open wounds and some other nice mods (very fast, etc). Another possibility is Deaths Sword (get full set bonus)

For amulet, go with The Eye of Etlich for +1 skillz

Also, I have a spare 4 socket Gothic Armor which might be handy :)

Definatly go with the Tearhaunch greaves - they will help you a lot more than the Treads of Cithon

Keep us posted on how it is going :)

The damage formula for a weapon is:

    Physical Damage = { [ (Base Damage)*(1 + on-weapon ED) ] + max/min }*(1 + off-weapon ED/100 + Str/100 + skill ED/100 + aura ED/100)

For smite obviously on-weapon ED is usless, so the formula becomes:

    Physical Damage = (Base Damage + max/min) * (1 + off-weapon ED/100 + Str/100 + skill ED/100 + aura ED/100)

All the different ED boosts are just added together and multiplied by the base. There is no real order.

    I just had another though:

I forgot that you want to use the "fanaticism mace", so the weapons I suggested wouldn't do you much good.

However, you could try Swordback Hold (Unique) shield 5-9 smite, and 50% open wounds, better blocking. Might be a decend dueling shield :)

Let me know what you thing - I wanna see you succeed :)

You'll get more damage with maxed HS and lower smite than the other way. Not sure if you can max HS at lvl 30 though.
