Low-Carb Bread

I was in my store today doing returns and I noticed that we were selling low carb breads... now, I could allway be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that bread more or less IS carbs. So how do you go about making low carb bread now? thinner slices?

If your gonna go low carb your just gonna have to live without breads, the people who buy products like this are just the failing dieters who want to feel like they are at least trying, reminds me of that diet rite cola.

My new invention is ZERO CARB BREAD. It will come in the traditional bread bag, complete with twisty tie. The ingenuity comes because the bag is simply full of air!

I'm a genius.

Can I be on the board of directors? I don't take up much space. In fact, I could telecommute if that's a problem.

I thin basically its normal bread that is just fluffier, so it has less carbs because there is less bread, however, it just looks like a larger amount.....not sure though.

The low-carb obsession of North America right now is ridiculous. You don't need to cut out tons of carbs from your diet. Not too long ago the "proper" diet was a diet with no fat and TONS of carbs. This is just another fad in people's obsessions to get thinner without working at it. The "proper" diet will always be one of balance, not cutting out this or that.

Well, I have heard that the no carb diet is healthier than the no fat diet, mostly because you end up getting close to no protein.....although I do agree the balanced is always best.

In a no-carb diet, you still have to eat a reasonable amount of calories a day. Say...1600. This is a really small amount, but for weight loss, is acceptable. Calories come from three things: Carbs, Proteins, and Fats.

So where are these calories going to come from? DING DING DING, Protein and FAT. I'm a weightlifter, and I eat about 150 g of protein a day. This is a LOT. Anyways, thats 600 calories of protein. So lets see, where will the other THOUSAND (1000) calories come from? FAT! So all these old mamma jammas eating Atkins Approved whatever and expecting to lose weight are really mistaken. Sure, they're not eating any carbs. Instead, theyre stuffing themselves with fat and other junk.

40 % Carbs/ 40 % Protein / 20 % Fat is what a lot of health-conscious people (who actually care to do research and don't go with the latest fad) go by.

I mean common...I can't believe these stupid women who go into BK, order a double quarter pounder with cheese and bacon, take off one bun, and call it a healthy meal. Amazing..

I was at a restaraunt, applebees or chilies, and it had bunless burgers. WTF, just order a piece of chicken, heathier than beef, or it you really want beef, have a stake. :uhhuh: I'll never understand people.

Low carb works in the short term because no carbs means no insulin is released, and so the fat you do eat is not stored. However, this is not healthy long term.

Corporations will always exploit what is popular, they are in it for the money. Don't ever think that these low-carb things were designed because its healthy. They were designed to make money off a popular fad diet.

And..... [queue suspenseful music] actually eating less and excercising!!!

I think that one of the main reasons why the no-carb diet works is that it makes it such a pain in the *** to eat the proper foods, the end result is that people eat less.

Eating less is not the answer, either. Eating RIGHT is the answer (and exercise, but I assumed that was a given). Diets don't work (diet meaning eating less calories). All you do is make your body overcompensate when you start eating normally again and you gain back even more weight. The trick is to not eat crap. Eat healthy foods and for the love of god get your fat arse off the couch and do something. I have a treadmill in my living room. I can do both. :D

the low carb craze is just people taking advantage of their "authority" and "reputation" in the diet and health world. They use it to take advantage of all those poor schmucks who are too stupid to do the research themselves or are so desperate to lose weight without really putting effort into it they will follow whatever the popular diet is.

That's why you'll hear fat people all the time talking about how "I've tried every diet out there".

I'm like "No you haven't".

How about the one where you eat in moderation and balance. The one where you get off your butt a couple to three times a week and do some exercise, break a real sweat.

People would rather be able to eat what they want and still lose weight, it's all about laziness and impulse control. They want their cake and be able to eat it to. Literally.
