Lots of smiter gear questions

As the title says i have lots of questions about gear.

Iv read alot of guides and gear is always diferent. I would like the opinion of sombody who has a smiter (ubers primarily, zeal for PVM at times) and knows what there talking about not just speculation.

1. Weapon

Most sites and guides i see say greif. thats fine but i have a few questions regarding that. I know the +x damage on the weapon will not add damage to your smite. Will the +x Enhance damage add damage to your smite.

Instead of using Greif why not use last wish its way better from what i can tell. yes its more expensive but is that the only reason people dont use it.

2. Armor

Here i have read guides that say fortitude yet i have read other places that the +enhanced damage on fortitude does not add onto the smite damage, is this true. If so is fort still the best armor or is CoH better and why.

3. Gloves

Obviously people use dracs for lift tap but if im going to be using last wish it already has life tap on hit so do i still need these? if not what would be a good alt to them.

4. Boots

Again gore is the way to go but again last wish has a 60-70 CB on it so do you realy need any more then that? or are gore good for other thigs also. what would be a good replacement to this if any.

5. Helm

Guiliums, people say is good again for CB. if we have last wish AND gore you dont need more CB then that surly so maybe a Kira's for good res and CBF. Whats your thoughts

6. Belt

I realy dont see a recomemded belt. some people say Tgods which i dont get. Would dungoes be a good choice for DR? i definitly need help here.

7. Sheild

I have read both Sanctuary and Exile.

With Exile you dont get as much res as Sanc but you get + to skills and you get freazes target which will be nice when im not ubering. you get more life tap which is nice but probly not needed if you have 16 full rejuve

with Sanc you get beter chance to block wich saves you dex with gives you health you also get 20 dex so thats more points into vit and you get a nice 50-70 res, with Kira's thats a fair amount of res you wont have to worry about much.

which is beter here, is there a beter one in your opinion

8. Rings

So with Kira's you dont need a Raven frost. I dont realy know what a good buy would be for rings. BK??? the lift steal would be nice when PVM but it woulnt work with smite. Im at a loss here too.

9. Ammy

People say Metalgrid and i dont know why. im not well versed in necro curses so do people get it for the changes on the ammy or for the res? if its the res why not Mara's? need help here too.

I think that about covers it if sombody could field all these questions that would be fantastic if not please try to answer as many as you can.

+Dmg does add to smite

The 300%ED from fort does add to smite...CoH is another great armor option for the huge res

Dracs can still be used for the extra chance to proc life tap and the OW's to stop the ubers healing, some nice crafted gloves would be my second option, third would be Bloodfists

Gores/Aldurs boots/Nice rares/Goblin Toes

Kiras will work fine.

Tgods has the lighting sorb for meph, IK belt has str/res, Dungos has a lil DR which isn't too important for the ubers.

Sanc is a really nice shield if you are in real need of the res, Exile is nice if you want to make sure you proc LT all the time, Hoz is a nice overall shield.

Raven/Dwarf/Wisp all have some sorb, Rares get nice leech/stats/res

Metalgrid has res/AR, Maras has skills/stats/res, its up to you.

Awsome thxs, coulnt get a good answer for the + damage off of fort so thats a good buy IMO. nice to know why people go tgods now.

Smiter dont need AR tho so maras should be the way to go i think.



While im here i woudl just like to confirm one thing.

+x damage to deamons? if somthing gave +200% damage to deamons would that stack onto my smite damage? if so the ubers are deamons right?

K here is the deal with uber smiters.
Uber smiters rely solely on cb to kill ubers. The little life that is left to kill, can be take with just pure phys dmg.

Weapon :
Last wish in a pb is best option, it gives you a lot of cb, life tap, and fade
you can use stormlash with ber, or 2 shael heavens light, or black

Helm:
Guillaumes face with um, is imo the only option.

Armor:
Coh because it gives you alot of res.

Boot: waterwalk or nice 3 res boot

Glove: I like lying of hands but you can use some nice ias gloves

Belt: Tgod

Rings:dwarf/raven

Amu: if you are not using ias gloves get highlords, else mgrid, because it gives 35 res (more than maras) and ar, since no doubt you are going to make 1 pt smiter and the extra ar is usefull for zeal.

Shield: hoz, you have the life tap ,and the +skills and res will always be a good addition(no need to up it by the way)

There is no BEST option. Look up the Grief vs Last Wish thread or whatever its called, its purely option and up to the player.

I do not need to look up grief vs last wish to figure out that it lacks a lot of useful for ubering modes.

That wasn't directed towards you but, CB is useful when you are in the Ubers, and it can be gotten from other gear. CB only works to a point, then you will need strait dmg(the +dmg from Grief comes to mind) to finish them off. Not to even mention the price of a Lastwish...

You seem pretty sold on Lw but a few quick points on grief is higher smite damage great for the last sliver of health that just wont die, great zeal damage and what many people overlook in a GvLw argument is the ias on Grief helps a lot when you get chilled too

Both items are even with different pros and cons (Lw seems like a lazy mans item who cant be bothered pre-buffing fade <----JK) but bang for buck G>Lw IMO

Safety: you smite damage guide is excellent great work:thumbup:

If you have Exile you dont need LW. If you can afford LW you can afford Exile. If you REALLY need the fade then prebuff it with a Treachery. Grief is superior to LW, sorry. Sometimes more expensive doesn't mean better.
