    Lotr Marathon

In a couple of hours a group of friends and I, are gonna watch all three of the Lord of the rings. Were gonna watch the extended versions so it will be between 11-12 hours (I think)
I have beer, I have pizza thats all We should need.
First time I have done anything like this, so hope I last the full 12hours.

Who else has done this before, did you find it better than just watching the films, on their own?

I've seen the full trilogy 3 times (alone), with only bathroom breaks.

I've seen the movies apart about a dozen times each.

I'm planning on seeing the full trilogy with a few friends as well, as soon as I can find some place where we can crash for 9 hours straight

I can't speak for LOTR, but it does work for some other series. The original star wars trilogy was pretty good this way. The Cowboy Bebop (subtitled/not dubbed) series is extremely good this way.

    The beer is definitely necessary.

I'm gonna second the Star Wars part  , never heard of Cowboy Bebop, but imo to dub is just .......... What's wrong with subtitles? (another reason to hate the French  )

Ive done marathons of Star Wars, Star Trek and LotR. LotR was the most fun - mainly because of spending all day on the couch with my son, killing an entire day together with the wife out of town.

I've done a LOTR marathon once with a couple friends, not bad i guess. im sure it would be more fun if you havent seen the films so many times you can recite the script.

Now What i want to do is a Star Trek Marathon, from the First classic Film to the Last TNG film.

EDIT: except for Star Trek IV, I hate that friggin movie!!!

I can barely do anything for an hour and a half at a time anymore, my attention span has gotten shorter as I age.

I've done that, aswell as a Star Wars marathon.
We needed a lot of "toilet breaks".
More during LOTR btw, there's an awful lot of water in those movies.

I did it when the extended version of Return of the King came out. Had my own little rules too. Five minute breaks between discs, and a half hour break between movies.

However, I am ashamed to admit that I could not make it all the way through. I had to stop before the last disc for Return of the King. In my defense, though, I was stupid enough to start at 1 that afternoon. I was a bit hungover from the night before.

Back when filesharing was the hip thing I downloaded hundreds of southpark episodes and so me and a friend watched them for days.

    It was fun.

I want to buy all 1007 southpark episodes.
