Lord of Mages update. & Bone Wall Question

Well, I've solved the Baal and Diablo problems :thumbsup: (when soloing) for the Lord of Mages build, so I will have a go at writing it up soon.

I just took on Nightmare Diablo (in Hardcore), and still had 5 Mages at the end of the battle, and was never in any serious danger.

And I *still* don't have any points in Bone Armour! w00t!


NB: some people have said that Bone Walls will stop Diablo's attacks... I've tried to duplicate this and been unable to. Does anyone know for sure if it works, and if so, how can we duplicate it?

I believe BW only blocks his radial fire attack (it may not, I have not played in ages), I know it won't block his other attacks.

Yes it only blocks the ring of fire, and can give ya an extra 1/2 sec on pink lightin'.

Ironically, if I'd posted a little bit more, I'd have explained that in my testing I wasn't sure if it was blocking the fire stream attack, but it definitely wasn't blocking the Lightning Hose, or the expanding Fire Circle attack, since it was definitely the expanding Fire Circle which did my minions in.

I think I'll try re-testing with my Bone necro, his Bone Wall should be a bit higher.

I'm looking forward to reading your post Rick. My LoM has been sitting unused since I've finally gotten a full time job. Amazing how 20 hours of overtime a week cuts into my playing time.

Will continue on mine when there's time.

Well, just ripped Nightmare Baal a new one. In Hardcore, untwinked, with no Bone Armour, and 10 skill points unspent, at level 60.

Went into Hell and laid the smack down on the Den of Evile. Now have 12 skill points unspent. (This is significant, because thats something I've sometimes failed to do with certain 'uber' cookie cutter builds in other classes)

I'm not keen to progress any further with that char at this stage, its much more glorious now than if the story ends here than with me moving into the Cold Plains and getting ganged up on by a bunch of pscho bosses...
