Looking for some input on a themed duo

The idea of creating a themed duo based on Undead/Demon killing struck my fancy. I thought it would be cool to have two characters mow through the game, one focused on killing the undead hordes and one being a demon hunter.

Choosing the Undead killer was easy enough. I've been interested in building a cleric (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=537) for quite a while and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. Gearing him is where I have questions. What gear would be perfect for him? I'm guessing the Azurewrath so I can run Sanctuary in conjunction with other auras for a weapon but I'm not sure where I can add +undead damage other places.

Would anyone recommend any variations from the Cleric build in focusing on a pure undead killer?

As far as the Demon Hunter goes, I was thinking that an Amazon might be the best, specifically a bowazon. It just seems to fit thematically. Obviously Laying of Hands is a no brainer, but what other pieces of gear would be good for her? Or would another class synergize better? Should I go with a second paladin and run with 4+ Auras over the two characters and their mercs? My friend did want to build a 1pt Smiting Zealot, could I work that into a Demon killer while we level and then substitute gear for doing Uber Trist when we reached the right level?

I don't know what your budget is like but a Coh armor would be perfect for both characters with +2 skills, 65res all, 8% damage reduce and a nice damage to demons/undead if you feel like some serious action

Well considering I eventually want them to take on Uber Trist together, a runeword like CoH would be perfect. Not within my budget yet, but I'm sure if I do some major key running and MFing, I can turn up some nice tradable items.

I was also wondering if my Cleric were to spam Holy Bolt and FoH while battling Uber Meph, would I be able to keep my partner healed enough to forgo Life Tap and be able to deal with Meph's summons effectively?

Tough call but even it it does you may want some life tap just in case, meph does some pretty big hits that nearly one hit you if you are not geared right so its nice to have anyway

Laying of hands glove has bonus ed to demons and holy bolt on cleric would be nice vs undead. Sanctuary aura knocks back undead which could be annoying if you melee so another weapon for melee would be a mace, all of which have extra 50%ed to undead.

Principle + Laying of hands (for ctc and ias only) + maxed blessed hammer + maxed FoH + 4-frame zeal: Fun undead-slaying!

You could also wield a hand of blessed light, and max holy shock and holy bolt for some extra oomph. Hard to reach 4 fpa withut fana though, so you can use fana.

Cloudcrack has a higher chance and level but is slooooooow

Also, up the HoBL for extra damage.

Also, if going with a zeal build don't do this in chaos sanctuary

If you want to be a cookie-cutter undead slayer though, max holy bolt, blessed hammer, FoH, and maybe sanctuary for knockback and some damage. Rest into cleansing for more sanc damage. Then load up on +skills and try your best to reach the 125% fcr breakpoint. Otherwise 75%

For all undead-slaying builds though, I highly recommend a boneslayer blade gothic/champion axe on switch. Imagine that ctc in the middle of a big bone archer pack

For the demon-slayer, all I really ca suggest is CoH, and LoH, and high physical damage. Can't think of anything else

oh, and don't try to put an eld in your wep etc. An ohm will give you more damage, since damage vs undead/demon is always off-weapon ed, even if it's on the weapon

And also, I still think the fastest undead slayer is a hammerdin, but that's of course as cookie cutter as it gets. I would advise you to take a cool non-cookiecutter option
