looking for pally build

looking for pally build

I play classic sp and after playing 2 or 3 barbs i want a fun melee pally build. I know zealers are harder to make in classic and i saw the sanctuary build thread but are there any other fun pally builds?

Try a medic. Classic has no runeword support, so any bonus auras have to come from a paladin.

You could make a variation of a medic.

20 FoH
20 conviction
20 holy bolt
20 prayer
1-5 mediation
1-5 cleansing

With the conviction, you'd be a huge help to sorcs. Maxing FoH gives you some killing power, and also provides more damage for your holy bolt. Maxing prayer gives you lots of hp regen if you run cleanse/meditation.

Medic is a fun build, but it really needs to be party oriented. I think I just noticed you want a single player build. This could work, but it'd be a tough one to do yourself.

Thanks for responding, I've always done melee but the medic looks fun even though im on sp. I always like a good challenge :).

For a single player Medic you will want a point in smite, a point in sanctuary, wearing goblins and boneflesh.
Medics have a hard time killing demons, hence the smite with open wounds and crushing blow.
On my Ladder pala I use a +2 war scepter with 30 ias(Thank you, Kobrakai[UK]), combined with deaths gloves and sash. Main reason I chose a war scepter ? It's durability and still good speed. I also use a +2 pala, 17fhr prismatic towershield(Thank you Monzee :) )

main/base builds:

offensive builds:

things in (are the common name title's given to these build types)

1. sacrifice (martyrs)
2. zeal (zealots)
3. vengence (avengers)
4. charge (charger, crusaders?)
5. blessed hammer (hammerdins, i like to call these crusaders instead of using crusader for charge paladins)
6. smite (smiter? or ?)
7. fist of the heaven (fohers or ?)
8. sanctuary (? or, my name, undead killer)
9. holy freeze (frost dins? or ?)
10. holy shock (tesladins, shock troopers, shockadin, or ?)
11. holy fire (fire din?)
12. bow or xbow weapon users (rangers)
13. javelin weapon users (dragoons)
14. holy bolt (? or, my name, undead sniper or exorcist)
15. conversion (priest?)

defensive builds:

1. prayer (healers, medics)
2. defiance (defiant?, or ?)

variants (sub builds) of main/base builds:

1. sacrifice+fanaticism (fanatic martyr?)
2. sacrifice+concentration (power martyr?)
3. sacrifice+prayer (medic martyr?)
4. zeal+fanaticism (fanatic zealot)
5. zeal+concentration (power zealot)
6. zeal+sanctuary (?, or my name, undead zealot)
7. zeal+conviction "use elemental socketed weapon and elemental damage giving gear" (?)
8. zeal+holy fire (fire zealot?)
9. zeal+hoy freeze (frost zealot)
10. zeal+holy shock (shockadin, tesladin, shock trooper, or ?)
11. vengence+conviction (avenger)
12. charge+zeal+holy shock (auradin)
13. charge+might/concentration/fanaticism (charger, crusader?)
14. bow/xbow+fanaticism (fanatic ranger)
14. bow/xbow+concentration (power ranger...err..this is an embarrassing name..)
15. ravenclaw bow+holy fire (fire ranger?)
15. wizendraw bow+holy freeze (?, frost ranger?)
16. rogues bow+holy shock (?, shock ranger?, tesla ranger?)
17. javelin+fanaticism (fanatic dragoon)
18. javelin+concentration (power dragoon)
19. javelin+holy fire (fire dragoon?)
20. jevelin+holy freeze (frost dragoon?)
21. jevelin+holy shock (tesla dragoon?, shock dragoon?, or ?)

and much more, especially pvp types, but i think u got an idea now of possible builds u can do/try

imo, the paladin has the MOST diversity of all the five characters (paladin, barbarian, amazon, sorceress, necromancer)

where as, imo, the amazon has the LEAST diversity of all the five characters (paladin, barbarian, amazon, sorceress, necromancer) and is probably a big reason why its the least popular character type of the five.

if u do a medic in sp, than u'll probably want to make a holy bolt medic. by doing holy bolt it goes with prayer (medic build) and gives u great damage for undead (~10,000 ranged damage to ONLY undead at only 3 mana per cast) and able to heal mercenaries (converted monsters, too?). also by doing holy bolt, blessed hammer is a synergy for this. even though u not using a hamerdin (blessed hammer+concentration) the blessed hamemr should be able to kill still without concentration and this is important because its really your strongest (and only) attack to kill living monsters (though be careful of over using blessed hamemr, only use it when u ahve to, as it defeats the purpose of your medic build, if u over use blessed hamemr u shoulda made a hamemrdin than instead of a medic). also u'll want to put pts into conversion as this will also help u with dealing with living monsters

or use warlock's idea for dealing with living monsters

Re: looking for pally build

Smiting monsters with high life regen can get tiresome, in those cases I also give it a go with hammers or FoH(the other synergy of bolts). If it's a demon with PI, you can only try bleeding it to death by having some elemetal(to which the demon is not immune) damage on your attack and wearing the boneflesh.
My 'emergency skill' in case I get surrounded has always been conversion though. You don't need AR for it, so you always have a good chance of converting.

Fend amazons could be quite interesting, if that skill wasnt bugged.

Fun pally builds.

Yah, zeal is really fun, but not in 1.10 here in classic. I vote for smite. A friend of mine built a pally with Holy Bolt/Healing exclusively for hell cs play, the cs is loaded with undead, except for Diablo and Venom Lords. Also, I built a ranger, using Raven Claw and conviction with max chant on him - very versatile and above all, fun. He just hit level 90 yesterday, and I use a bit of Holy Freeze and Conversion when I get swarmed by fire immunes.
