LLD Orb or Blizz sorc?

I didn't see any level 30 guides for a sorc ( or did I miss them? ) in here, I want to make a sorc using a circlet my friend gave me. It has the following:

2 cold, 20 fcr, 15 life & 15 resist all

I think those are good stats for the level the helm is, I'll use that along with Viper, SoJ, rare FCR ring, and magefists. I don't know what to use for boots or belt, I need some advice with that. If any one could give me some input on where to put points, I would appreciated it. Thanks.

I'd advice you (if you can manage decent to good charms) to go for Blizz/ES

I've been messing with that build for some time now and its just awesome!

Basic layout:

1 telekenisis
1 teleport
20 Ice Blast
7 Blizzard
1 cold mastery
Rest of the points into Icebolt
1 point Warmth

Stats:

Enough str (+charms/item str) for your heaviest piece.
Dex ( enough for max block , imo kinda not needed, level 30 = mostly casters)
Vit = All points
Energy ( dont put your points here, its USELESS have 2k+ mana if you only have 300 life.

Get an Insight staff on switch with ES as an automod ( 3 = almost needed)

Equipment:

Your circlet is good to go, I'd socket it either with an PSkull or PSaph. ( or a sweet res/life , stats/mana jewel)

Amulet, 2 cold/ 10 fcr ( a must )

Weapon, spirit 35%fcr/95ish+ mana/aim for high mdr
Viper, (similar socketing options )

2x SoJ's

Frostburn

Crafted 10fcr belt ( look for res/mana/str/fhr)

Cowking boots (if max block)

Charms:

This is personal, do u want more mana or more life? I tried balancing them and got 5x Gc's , rest are life/res and life/mana sc's.

GCs = Look for , 12%FHR/mana and Life/Mana ones.

I've never played one but orber would not work very well I guess. First of all it is a lvl 30 skill which means you could only have 1 hard point in it. It's main synergy (Icebolt) is also inferior to Iceblast (blizz synergy).

The circlet is ok. An alternative belt would be nightsmoke if you don't happen to have a fcr one. For boots you should use cow king's hooves or sander's boots - they offer 5 stats less but have 10% frw which is preferred in leagues where teleport is banned.

Thank you both for the info, I have some 15 life scs and just one with life and mana but its a good one. 15 life, 12 mana, I've been told thats pretty damn good. Just yesterday I also made a 35fcr sword with 109 mana, not sure bout the mdr though. I have a 34 viper and I was thinking of using mage's but I'll try the others too.

I will also chip in that an orber doesn't really work. I made one at lvl 30 that got it up to 100ish damage per shard with -60% or so cold mastery. On the one hand it sounds pretty good: hit with 5-6 shards and that's a good chunk of damage. The real catch though, is that most lvl 30 caster duelers will have about 25-30 MDR on their gear. String of ears and vipermagi are popular armor / belt options at that level and both boast 15ish MDR (forget the exact numbers, 15 string and 13 vipermagi IIRC). That's applied to each bolt and really sucks up your damage.

A lvl 30 orb/TK sorc can tank like a mofo but can't scratch other casters. I scrapped mine after about a half dozen duels.

Blizzard doesn't have that problem, because it does all of its listed damage in one icy thunk and is only penalized by MDR once.
